I agree. Granted, one of Ark's TDs was against our backups in garbage time (why was Bert keeping Allen in and chunking it up to the final second?). But I was very disappointed in our secondary. Too many talented players to play like that. We need to fix the breakdowns. I think we will to some extent. That being said, Ark is a very good passing team.

Exactly what I said about our secondary at the beginning of the year. We have seemed to fix it so we'll see. I know how infuriating it can be to have 5 stars everywhere in the secondary and people he wide open sometimes. We looked good against Mizzou, I hope we can play like that in the secondary every game.

I swear I said the same thing a couple times. Especially when their opponent runs the ball. It's like you can never past their last line of defense. Always guys in red and white uniforms flying into the screen.

Actually, they look like they've take a step back. How can you watch them against Arkansas and call them amazing?

I feel great about our entire team outside of the secondary. We survived against Kelley and Allen, but Dobbs and Knight concern me. If our secondary can improve and play up to their potential, this could be a special team but that is a big IF.

For better or worse, the next two weeks will likely define this Bama team. The TAMU game is a must win regardless of what happens in the UT game.

I mean, he might have a point though. I don't know what Coach O is going to do with this group of players we have, but potentially, the offense could give Bama fits. If Etling continues to make needed passing plays to open up the run game, our defense is definitely good enough to slow down the Bama offense. It could be a really good game.

Then again, they could beat us like a drum.

Secondary will cost them at least one game this year.

Secondary has annoyed me a lot lately. I also feel that Bama's defense is lacking this season in contrast to past seasons, to be entirely honest. And sometimes it's not the defense's fault entirely, like when the offense is responsible for turnovers that set opponents (like Ole Miss and Arkansas this year) up for scoring more easily.

What's crazy is that we are halfway through the season and Alabamas defense isn't ranked in the top 10. Clearly a top-10 unit IMO but it is a bit unusual

Although against ranked teams they're giving up ~36.5 ppg... but it's just 2 games and that would skew the stats. They held every other team to 10 or less

Actually, to update, since USC is now ranked #20, they have averaged giving up 26.3 PPG to ranked teams. But here's the kicker...the defense has averaged scoring 11.7 PPG against ranked teams...5 TDs in those 3 games.

That USC team is ranked higher than LSU?

My bad. That was the preseason ranking. The schedules on ESPN don't update the rankings during the season.

Secondary. Throw hail mary type passes all day long and you'll either connect for 40+ yard gains or draw pass interference calls.
