And you keep telling everyone how you want your team to throw punches at our QB

Not exactly, I'm saying I want LSU to give Tua the Raekwon treatment. Alabama fans should be flattered that I want my team to model themselves after Alabama's example.

Don't forget, LSU's player was ejected over a bad call, Alabama's player was not ejected for punching a man when he was down.

Get your shite together

There you go again, trying to lecture other people on how to behave.

That right there earns you a big fat...

Is that getting one's shite together?

.."on the proper techniques for playing defense, when Davis is seen clearly throwing punches at a defenseless player, is just a bit too much for most people.

The fact is too that Florida players were seen twice in the LSU game throwing punches, but were only called for it once, and then just unsportsmanlike conduct. Then a bad call goes against LSU, is reviewed and upheld, and that player gets ejected. That's just fricked up shite from an LSU fan's perspective."

I am in no way justifying his actions. And I was not there in person. I have seen videos before the incident that show altercations between the MO and AL players, so it could be that the refs saw it all in the same context. However, Saban, whether it was at his discretion or directed by the SEC, took action and sat his arse out during the TN game. So in the end he got the same punishment.
I don't have the answer on the calls. I think for the most part when I look at them in retrospect it looks to me like some of these things are too subjective and they throw the flag way to quickly. It slows the game down and makes it seem like there is collusion.
What I don't want to see, is an environment like South American soccer where fans get stabbed or beaten in the stands because of crap like this. Calling for breaking people's legs and ruining knees is taking it too far. I know Saban nor Coach O would never stoop to directing a player to do that, but when the talk is all over social media you may get a player who wants to make a name for himself.
I am hoping for a good game on both sides of the ball, and if I am in BR I don't want piss down my neck. If I were on the Quad at BDS, I would offer you food and drink no matter which school you root for. I might not speak to you in the stadium, and I am not going to gloat after the game nor poison your trees. There are crazies on both sides.

The penalty was called for the knee in the back.

Having not watched the game, I was not aware of that. I'm assuming after the punches, he kneed him in the back while getting to his feet?

Devin White was being called a thug piece of shite for the shove he gave Fitzgerald. Davis wasn't content with punching a guy while he was down, but he has to kick him as well? That guy is out of control. I would hope that referees in future games would keep a close eye on him as he seems intent on causing harm to other players.

No, it's not. He did Lower his helmet but extended his arms just like White did. One was called targeting and shouldn't have been. Both at most should be roughing the passer

He kept it within the acceptable range. He was still looking ahead of himself instead of at the ground.

It got a little tense in that game. Emotions got the best of him. He lost his temper. Threw some weak looking punches. He was punished for it. It's not like he raped a 14 year old girl or something.

I'm sure it was at his own discretion. Saban, above all, wants discipline from his players. Dominating the player on the other side of the ball, within the rules, is part of the process of becoming the best football player you can be, and consequently win football games and championships. I respect Saban and his process.

Nobody wants to see that - NO-BODY. Don't get carried away by internet blather.

bullshite, don't throw hyperbole at me.
quote:

I have been attending LSU games for over 35 years and have never seen or heard of anything like this happening. Again, don't get caught up in the bullshite.
quote:

I might not speak to you in the stadium

Well, that's not very sporting of you. I have been to several LSU-Alabama games in Tiger Stadium, and I have never let the game keep me from being friendly to opposing fans. As a matter of fact, I have been known to stand up to LSU fans picking fights in the stands with opposing fans (including Alabama fans). So if you see me in the stands, while you may not talk to me, I will help to keep you from being assaulted.

Not that I'm averse to fighting, it's just that I think there's a time a place for it. Sonic, at 10, for example. A football stadium during a game is neither the time nor the place for fighting, in the stands or on the field.

You seem like a good egg, if a little timid. I'm thinking this board isn't exactly the place for you.

His face mask is in the guys chest

It's a perfect form tackle

White's penalty was lame, but it has nothing to do with Mack's perfect form tackle

Just drop it

MISSOURI? A "tense" game?

If you think that was a tense game, just wait until Nov. 3rd.

Technically, he committed assault and battery.

But yeah, it happens. Just don't lecture LSU fans about how their players conduct themselves on the field when you have players like Davis conducting himself in the manner he did.

Plus, I was getting tired of all the Devin White talk, so I was interested in changing the subject.

It wasn't because of the score. There were a few questionable things that players were doing that was getting people hurt/riled up.

No way this happens in Tiger Stadium.

I love how they never use the angle that shows left side of the helmet crown in the chin of the QB. They only show that angle where it looks like he hit him in the arm pit.

Hey, numbnuts, feel free to post a photo showing whatever angle you want.

Good luck.

Sure. They happen all the time. You just asked for an explanation, so I gave one.
