I am much more concerned about AJ throwing hissy fits at young players. This could be a repeat of McElroys last year if he does not humble down. He needs to lead not present himself as Coach lite.

Didn't mean to rustle the jimmies, just saying that was statistically AJ's worst game of his career and by a decent margin. He's never thrown under 50% completions before and he only threw 3 picks all of last year.

After all of the "AJ is better than Manziel" hype of the offseason we heard constantly from Bama fans I just found such an uncharacteristically bad game from him as interesting. The only real change from last year is the OL (his main WR targets are back). Though I expect AJ will certainly improve I don't think it is a given he will be able to put up stats like he did last year and may have some real issues due to his lack of mobility.

3 of 4, two in a row, shite man, I haven't been concerned since 2010. If 3 in a row doesn't happen, oh well, it's been a great ride, let's look forward to 2014.

But he's a game manager with no X factor and an inability to throw under pressure. He may not be the problem, but his lack of talent magnifies them.

Did he do that Saturday?

I know he tried that with his center in the Title game and got put in his place.

I'd be much more concerned about this. McCarron completely ignoring and disrespecting his coach. Saban has obviously lost control. McCarron should have stopped, looked Saban in they eye, and said yessir.

I wasn't able to watch the whole game but I did see him get upset with Henry(maybe more than once) about his pass protection.

He knew to just pick on freshmen this time.

I don't blame anyone for not looking him in the eye during a rant like that

Fair enough. It just seems interesting that most Bama folks are very concerned about the OL and not concerned at all that your QB had the worst game of his career. He threw 2 picks last year against A&M (should have been 3). VT seemed to be almost daring him to pass by stacking the line and he was really only able to take advantage of it on the one TD pass.

I'll answer that question with a question:

Does this concern you?

Total Defense
#96 Texas A&M
88 plays 509 yards given up

Opponent -- Rice (Granted, Rice was a good offense last year and returned all the starters)

Bama fans probably feel a lot better about McCarron's performance than we do.
