No. I think Grant is the better coach and actually preaches defense, but both coaches struggle with end of game situations. Gottfried has put together a good staff so hell have success as long as he has good assistants. His downfall here was when they left. I'll be disappointed in Grant if we don't have any changes this offseason. We've been bad at offense for three years. He needs to bring in an offensive minded assistant.

I don't see how it could get much worse, but without changes, it probably won't get any better.

Sidney Lowe was the NC State version of Derek Dooley or Mike Singletary. The guy was an awful coach who was in way over his head. That team always had a ton of talent but it was wasted with Lowe as their head coach.

Oh it can absolutely get worse. If the outside shooting doesn't improve enough to compensate for the loss of Green, we will struggle to score 50 next season.

I'm sure I've already asked you, but you think we need some staff changes too right?

I'm not sure what happened in Gottfried's last three years at Alabama. But there is no denying he can be a very good coach when he wants to be.

As an Alabama fan, not only am I happy that we got rid of Gottfried, but, as a NCSU alum, I'm pissed that we picked him up. The only thing that will change my mind is a national championship. No Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, or Final Four appearance will make up for the inevitable five of six years of below mediocrity that will shortly begin.

Not really. His era ran it's course and he moved on. He's a solid coach.

We can be decent under Grant, but NC State is the better Bball job.

Maybe we do need some coaching changes but I think if we had Tony Mitchell it wouldve made a big difference. Im thinking that the offense was probably going to run around him and JG. I just think we finally have some kids that are going to be in the system that arent Juco players which will give them time to learn and to do what CAG wants them to do. I think what he does on the recruiting trail in the next couple months is huge. We need another big man who can score. Jacobs can score but defensively and on the boards he sucks.

Your guys can't shoot. No offensive system that I'm aware of can fix that.

Not in the slightest.

He took us to the elite 8 and you see what it did for us. Half a decade of mediocrity once he got his fat pay raise.

frick that guy. Seriously.

I agree with the coaching changes sentiment. We need something to happen on offense before next year or we will be lucky to make the NIT without Green.

I will still be glad to see him gone though.

Good to see CMG get to the 16. However, his time at Alabama had run its course and he probably should have been run a year or two earlier than he was. Change was inevitable. This was Alabama's first appearance in the NCAA's waay too long.

As well as the program is funded and supported, making the tournament should be the norm and should happen at least 80% or more of the time.

Maybe one where you actually have movement and cuts to the basket that can allow you to get layups...

I don't hate him at all. We were just going nowhere, slowly, and a move had to be made.

Hope he has great success wherever he goes in the future, unless he's playing Bama.

Nonsense, the weave offense is very underrated. Especially productive when non-involved players are standing and watching.
