It's still not even raining here.
It appears to be a very long, narrow weather band. It looks like it will be a while until it gets to MS and AL.

Mena has mountains? Learn something new everyday. But I also consider Mena Southern Arkansas.

Looks like there are a couple Tornado Warnings just north of Pine Bluff..
Really wasn't expecting this kind of weather today. I was in Little Rock earlier today and it was just misting and foggy.

Mena has mountains?
That area around Mena and Waldron and Mount Ida has some of the tallest and prettiest mountains in Arkansas.
That region looks like the Blue Ridge Mtns. There's not much down there, but there's definitely a lot of mountains.
Here's the Rich Mountain lodge just a few miles outside of Mena:

Drive Old 71 sometime. Ft Smith is in the River Valley. Once you get a few miles south of Ft Smith, the mountains pick up again.
Here's a typical road scene between Waldron and Mena:
Lots of public land and good deer hunting down there.

I've driven it a couple times. Didn't really pay much attention to the scenery. I will next time. Probably take it next Thanksgiving when I go down to Bossier City.

They just showed it on 42 Bham station.
Its all red and white poised at the MS/AL border, like some crimson wave...
Seriously, it looks like it could get really ugly. - be safe all.

There's a little place called Parks about 15 miles or so east of 71 down between Mena and Waldron. I've deer hunted down there a few times. Its very remote and beautiful. Its a different landscape than the Ozarks. The mountains down there are actually taller, and the valleys deeper. Its more rugged than what we have up here in NWA.
