Kodi Burns part II?

It seems like a legitimate question, other than the phrasing of the statement. Transfer QBs, JUCO or not, rarely work out to the level of the hype.

^Exactly. Florida was more than likely going to run a 2 QB system with Newton. Accuracy is hard to teach, but we shall see.

His accuracy has apparently improved since he left UF. I believe it was 60.7% last year. Sorry but that is not even close to "atrocious".

At Blinn?
That's JUCO dude. The level of competition is questionable. I'm rooting for Newton as well but right now I have full faith in his legs but questions about his arm. I'm with the poster that said let our coaching staff handle him because they did do some good work with Todd this year.
In the end, we still have a roster full of QBs to toss the rock if Newton turns out to be a bust.

Yeah at Blinn. But is he not throwing to JUCO receivers and being blocked by JUCO o-lineman?

Accuracy is all about mechanics, throwing power not so much.. A few adjustments with his release and footwork is all it will take, the only question will be is he willing to listen.. He has a very strong arm and is mobile, all he needs now is technique..

... and think about this. Do you think our coaches, knowing the kid doesn't want to be platooned would go for broke on him if they thought he wasn't an accurate passer?

What? McElroy wasn't a transfer. He verbally committed to Texas Tech and then changed to UA. He has been at UA his whole college career.

Newton is NOT what AU needed. The running game isn't going to be an issue for AU.

I'm pretty sure the coaching staff knows what they need a little better than the opinions of an internet forum. No, AU's running game will not be an issue next year which is all the more reason to believe that Malzahn believes Newton is an adequate passer.

Ok bro, Newton is an adequate passer, we'll see what da LSU and BAMA secondary boyz have to say about that.

He offers extra competition for a starting position. I think even the most myopic of posters hear can see as a good thing.

Sorry, guess I was under the impression he transferred in. So is he a redshirt junior? Hard for me to believe that guy is in his 4th year there. He may be but it does not seem like it. BTW, no need to call names, it was just a mistake.

I remember these same types of posts all over the internet after Chris Todd was named the starter this year in Fall after missing all of Spring practice......
One record setting season later, here we are again. lol.....you guys never learn.

Try to get outside of the bunker over at ITAT every once and awhile. You need some air.

Yes.

Why? He gave a verbal to TxTech in '05, and switched after the Cotton Bowl.

I'm sorry you are unable to adjust to the truth.

Don't be so sensitive, Nancy.

Where he lead the team to a 5-0 start against cupcakes...only to suffer 5 losses in the last 7 games.

I hope Cam comes in and breaks all of Todds records. Maybe next year, with a QB of Cam's caliber, it won't take 3 OT's to beat a team like Northwestern.
