We were last on football probation in 1993, not so far from you. I grew up a UF fan in FL
We have a an occasional arrest like most schools. None of the rehabbed players (I can think of a whopping 3 including Matthews) has been anything but a model citizen after they transfer.

Reading ATPB? Urban was not going to and did not kick him off the team. No post departure speculation which I assume you are basing your comments on.
Cam left, he knew he should be playing.

Sounds like speculation. Let's meet in the middle. He left because he knew what was next. You are only going to believe what you want about Cam. That's fine. I'm not interested in a Cam argument today and didn't participate in the ATPB thread. Like I said, Auburn is my fav West school. Wish we still played every year.

The obvious temptation for anyone with a rooting interest in Florida’s football program is to look at what spread-offense maestro Cam Newton is doing at Auburn and think two words: What if?
Had Newton remained a Gator, or coach Urban Meyer been more forceful in convincing the 6-foot-6, 250-pound quarterback to not transfer to a junior college when Tim Tebow returned for his senior year, many believe Florida’s offense wouldn’t be in its present lost state.
It’s reasonable to think the Gators would be more potent with a dynamic quarterback like Newton running the show. But who could have envisioned him developing into the ideal dual threat we’re now seeing zoom to the top of so many Heisman Trophy leaderboards?
Jacksonville paper
ETA: Certainly not anyone at Florida during 2008 spring practices. Nobody was touting Newton as a future star after watching him struggle to complete the most basic of passes. He was a raw prospect with wildcat-type skills, but Meyer and the coaching staff were much more sold at the time on John Brantley as heir to the Tebow throne.
So UF fans now bemoaning the fact Newton is working wonders for a different orange-and-blue are merely engaging in revisionist history. They’re forgetting there wasn’t any collective regret when he bolted Gainesville for Blinn (Texas) Junior College, where Newton won a national title. The only thing Gator nation felt was relief that Tebow decided to stay one more year. Newton was an afterthought, dismissed by the perception that Meyer would make Brantley every bit as effective as Chris Leak during the ’06 championship year.

That was written by some hack from a Jacksonville paper. He speculated.

Cam was kicked out of UF for cheating multiple times. It was above Urbans head. People think he was kicked off for stealing, but it wasn't Meyers call.

He's not going to believe you.
The student council meeting is all speculation. The cheating is speculation. Cam just didn't want to wait. He was fine to stay at UF if he wanted. Urban just couldn't recruit him twice. The stacks weren't high enough. That's what he'll believe.

Yeah, that sucks for UToof

Don't care if he doesn't believe me. It's what happened. Meyer wouldn't kick him off for stealing a laptop lol. If it was up to Meyer, he wouldn't kick anyone off for anything haha.

That's mostly true though he did kick a few.

You should start a thread relevant to Hernandez. This one is about Auburn.
Try to stay on topic.

I know it cuts deep, but it was relevant to you and your high horse mentality.

Nobody knows if Hernandez did anything at UF to justify being kicked off. His gang relations were in the NE, which is why he started making terrible decisions when he went back home.

This high horse attitude is more of an Athens thing. Surprised at the Gators this morning.
