Has Gene Chizik or Jay Jacobs released a statement yet?

Yes, they were both read on the WSFA Montgomery coverage of the press conference. Don't have'em handy myself right now. I'll look.

Edit: WDE24 took care of it.

This is a sad, sad day for everyone associated with the entire Auburn family," Chizik said in a news release. "I am devastated by the passing of three young men, including two that I personally knew in Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips and my heart goes out to their families. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and all of the victims involved in this tragic incident. Nobody should ever have to endure such unimaginable grief, and we will love and support the victims' families during this terribly difficult time. We have a lot of people on our football team that are hurting right now and we're going to do everything we can to help them get through this. We are relieved that Eric Mack, who was also a victim in this incident, is expected to make a full recovery. This is a very trying time for everyone involved, and I would just ask that you lift up the victims and their families in your prayers."

Jacobs said: "This is a tragic day for the entire Auburn community. First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families who have been devastated by this senseless tragedy. We will support the families of the victims in the difficult days ahead in every way that we possibly can. Our student-athletes are obviously stunned and deeply saddened, and we are providing counseling and support for them as they grieve the loss of their teammates and friends."

@auburnbeat: Suspect Desmonte Leonard sued for child support FRIDAY in Montgomery Circuit Court by mother who claims he fathered her daughter in 2011.

I think they said he was an Auburn resident but not a student at AU.

This is crazy. Three dead kids for no reason. I've always wondered if it would help to have repetitive classes (Jr. High and High School) about gun violence and focus it on, not only the pain inflicted on the victim, but the pain inflicted on the victim's families. Might not make a difference, but damn, seems like it would be better than nothing.

As long as this is the predominant culture on MTV, a class won't change a thing.

Sounds like they have a good bit on him. They sounded pretty confident that they would catch him soon. Hope that happens..

Surprised he did not give the names of the other two individuals that were "a point of interest". He is asking them to come in for questioning.

Will Eric Mack be able to play again? I know Kevin Parrom from UArizona was able to come back from a shooting to the leg and play basketball for them this year

Leonard's address listed in lawsuit filed Friday is Alder Point Drive in east Montgomery near Vaughn Rd and Eastern Boulevard. Anybody know where this is.
