I was watching CNN the other night when all of this Baltimore, Maryland rioting was going on, and the Mayor (also African American) called the rioters what we would call them..."thugs". What else would be a proper term to call people that feel the need to commit arson, loot stores and intentionally cause bodily harm to people?

I was against bringing DJ back, but at least get your facts straight. DJ was the driver for the thugs that beat people up. DJ never assaulted anyone, which is why he is the only one of the 4 that was allowed back.
