auburn has had several losing and mediocrer seasons recently.
Actually, I believe FSU and Clemson both have 16 conference titles if you count co-champions. Also, Clemson did field some good teams but not great teams in the 80's. Clemson only played in a major bowl once during the 80's and only finished in the top 10 (AP Poll) 3 times during that period.

ok again the narrative on here seems to be that unless Clemson wins the national ttitle, it is trash.
this has gotten better but in the past the bowl tie ins really were biased toward SEC.

until Pitt this past season, Clemson had beat like 35 unranked teams in a row. i think Pitt finished the season ranked, although may have dropped out after their bowl loss.
