fair titles were glorified beauty contest prior to the BCS and Playoff...even the BCS had beauty contest aspects that affected its validity from time to time. Auburn has 5 legit claims to titles and about 4 more bammer claims. '13, '14, '57, '83, '10 and they should have been given the chance to beat USC in 2004. They certainly possed more NFL talent at every position but linebacker. If you want to split hairs they should have won it in 1910 as well, 100 years later we made could on that poll bias. ;)
CLemson had several undefeated seasons during the poll era.

lol, so what? it doesn't mean AUburn is a better program now. you can't talk about now.
Yeah they are. Your head coach is ready to be a Bammer as soon as he can.

Oh look, you're back talking about Clemson on an SEC forum. Why must you shove Clemson down our throats bruh? We honestly don't give two shits about your history. Did you see USC is in the elite 8? cray right

obviously you do because you guys are the ones who start trashing Clemson. all i do is respond to it.
i don't care about SC. they just another college to me.
this is their first tourney since 2004 so i don't see wut the big deal is. if they win it all, i'll say way to go.
you don't see no. 7 seeds get to play in their state in first two rounds like SC did. lot of mediocre teams would have liked that advantage.

I was just pointing out that we have been selected National Champions 5 times...while even Clemson info pages note that until 1981 Clemson had never been in the running for a Championship. Dabo is doing great and this year will be huge for his legacy. But acting like Clemson is somehow better historically than Auburn is foolish, but they are clearly a quality program with a rich history. Another 5 years like the last and they will be moving you past a lot of programs on those types of lists. Florida made that jump via the Old Ball Coach back in the day.

ok i never said CLemson is better than anybody historically, i'm just pointing out most people today do not perceive Auburn as better than Clemson as a program. both are viewed as programs that have potential to win it in good seasons.

As soon as he is gone, Clemson will be back to being the pitiful program it's always been.

ok. you are basically saying only one coach in country can have success at Clemson. lol
it seem like Clemson could probably name some big name coaches at this point.

Chad Morris of Southern Miss. Come on home, son.
Posted on 3/25/17 at 8:54 pm to jangalang
he's at SMU in Dallas, homey,
i don't want him. i think he part of reason we lost to SC so much.
example, the last year of SC's 5 peat, Clemson had drove the ball down the field but for some reason Morris has Sammy Watkins throw a ball into the endzone and it gets picked off. why have Watkins throw the ball when you have Tajh Boyd.

Your 1981 season is tainted as frick. Deal with it. Might as well consider it as legitimate as Barry Bonds's HR record.

this forum isn't specific to 'SEC fans'. they obviously allow fans of any team to post here. i view it as a football forum, you guys are so hung up on conference, which is just a schedule.
As a Michigan fan you are right about it not being specific to SEC fans but I'm not sure what you expect.I'm mostly just a viewer when I get time and don't post often but after reading this thread I thought I would chime in.
You seem like an ok guy but you have some serious misunderstandings about this place. I wouldn't go on to any ACC board and expect to not see some black lash if I labeled people as "ACC homers" as soon as I didn't agree with them on a topic. The SEC is very proud of their "dominance" in recent history and while it can be over the top a lot of the time, it is warranted to a certain extent. We are definitely finding a better balance in CFB now though. You also come across as extremely passive-aggressive a lot of the times, even if that is not what you are trying to do. I guess I'm just saying you should be more open and not so closed minded. Hope this helps
We need more posters from outside the SEC on this board.
