From my understanding and visiting of other SEC schools (LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Auburn), you generally can't go wrong with SAE, Sigma Chi, KA, Kappa Sigma, and Sigma Nu in the South.

I think the roofied excuse for "blacking out" is bulls### 9 times out of 10. I wish I could blame some of the dumb stuff I did in college on having my drink "roofied" but some of us choose to take responsibility for our actions. That is a bit of a sore subject as someone I know had their reputation practically ruined when someone insinuated they drugged some girl's drink when I know they didn't do it. It's an incredibly sh#### thing to falsely accuse someone of because even if you're totally innocent your reputation has been ruined.

Let me get this straight....You go to Auburn, yet you're an LSU fan? That'll go down well for any frat you join

Meh...I am at College of Charleston, but I am a LSU fan. Lots of guys here are South Carolina, Georgia, UNC, or UVA fans. That being said, I guess College of Charleston doesn't really equate to Auburn.

Roofied and and food poisoning are the most overused excuses on the planet. I worked at a restaurant near campus that served breakfast and every Saturday and Sunday morning someone was calling out because of "food poisoning."
Like I told them, if every one of their food poisoning stories were true the CDC would have been in Auburn, AL because we would have had a goddamn epidemic.

You can't go to a major SEC school and publicly root for another major SEC team and expect things to go well

I had some buddies of mine that went to Ole Miss, but they still pulled for LSU whenever the two played. They wouldn't wear LSU clothing, but they admitted that they were pulling for the Tigers.

Fiji's were the ones who painted themselves purple back in the day. used to do it when we played Georgia Tech. Their pledges did it as part of the Wreck Tech parade. Not sure if and when they still do this.

Exactly. I don't want to come off as a male chauvanist but it seems that some college girls are allowed to use this horrible accusation and often lame made up excuse to explain away their drunken boorish behavior. Guys don't get the same courtesy of making up this lame excuse to explain away their embarrassing nights out on the town. Seeing someone having to deal with the shame of being falsely accused of such a horrible thing pissed me off royally. I remember finding out about it from a guy I knew saying he heard some shady things about the guy in question so it was obvious others were believing the viscous untrue rumors about the guy. His comments and the situation still to this day piss me off 15 years later. Bit## didn't even have the guts to confront him about his supposed transgression and instead let people believe it was true anyway.

I am 100% sure I never got roofied in college, and 100% certain that I had adderall in my system if I blacked out but was still able to function and do something I shouldn't have done. The majority of people's bodies will shut down if they have enough to drink that literally destroys their ability to remember anything, unless they have an upper in them to keep them going. Roofies aren't uppers, are they?
Also, reading this thread makes me realize how gay frats really are. People would be so much more socialized and capable members of society if they didn't put such a premium on their little social clubs. I loved the majority of frat parties I ever went to, and absolutely loved sorority girls, but groups of frat guys that tried too hard are the most obnoxious people ever.
Only negative part of the SEC are the frats.
