The "kid didn't know" defense won't and shouldn't fly because if they allow it now-they will send the WRONG message. It only a matter of time!!
So let me ask you this, if La'el Collins' uncle called LSU asking for money for La'el Collings signature
Collins has no clue that his uncle called nor did he tell him to call. Should Collins be ruled ineligible?

Auburn fans if you think Cam didn't know about the money you are fricking stupid. Dude has serious character issues and I'll bet anything he knew about the money

I doubt anyone that posts on a messageboard knows for sure.
Because anyone who would be in a position to know wouldn't post on message boards?

Yes-if its verified that a relative or someone representing him asked-especially if the athlete goes to another school if that condition isn't met. The NCAA has to clamp down on this because it allows for a creative outlet for pay for play. The rules are in place and these cases would get out of hand. I don't think too many relatives would screw over their kin nor risk the backlash!!

One call? No, because after one call, LSU would have notified the kid what was up and everything would have come out in the open.
But the cam/cecil situation didn't involve one call or one conversation. In the WSBTV article, Cecil admits to multiple conversations. I'd like to hear your scenario on how multiple conversation can occur without the kid knowing. If you were the booster about to pay 6 figures, and you had multiple conversations with a kid's family member, would you pay it without confirming things with the kid?

When interviewed by ESPN.com Thursday at the family's home in Atlanta, Cecil Newton, Cam's father, denied any wrongdoing.
"If Rogers tried to solicit money from Mississippi State, he did it on his own, without our knowledge," Cecil Newton said.

Auburn basically said by him playing that we are innocent, so even IF he is found to have taken benefits our punishment will be the same whether we play him or sit him. So, let's just continue the fun ride.
