It looked like Deandre Hopkins stepped out of bounds on the kick six.

They couldn't even blow Bama out in 2004 when Bama had one of their worst teams ever and Auburn had one of their best teams ever. Sad.

We were in total command in those games in the waning moments, and a combination of conservative play calling on offense and 'prevent' defense enabled Bama to score in the final seconds each time to make the game appear closer than it was.
In '03, AU led by 16 at halftime, only to see Bama close to within 2 early midway through the 3rd, but led by 12 until a last-minute TD.
In '04, Bama led 6-0 at the half before fading. AU dominated the third quarter to go up 21-6, then called off the dogs. Again, Bama scored in the final 90 seconds to close to within 8.
In '05, the outcome of the game was never really in doubt. AU led 14-0 halfway through the 1st, and Bama didn't come any closer until the last 30 seconds, when once again a late TD in garbage time made the final margin only 10.
tl;dr version: we haven't beaten y'all by more than 10 points because you're usually the better team. And in those few instances where we were clearly better, we had an HC who had a reputation for sitting on a lead.

And in those Bama 17 wins of greater than 10 points were 9 Bama wins of greater than 25 points. When Auburn is losing they tend to give up. That's definition of a quitter. Auburn will fold like a cheap suit if they aren't in it.

I think we win that game if we didn't have to use our 3rd string offense.

The reason we win big over half our wins is because AU's program is very inconsistent and they have a tendency to quit when behind. Excusing why we made a close game in your examples is just stupid. WE DON'T QUIT. And AU does.

Auburn is the most penalized team in the history of the ncaa, not Bama so

Next to SMU, Bama is the most severely penalized team in the History of the NCAA.

But they had enough scholarships taken away, they were not worth watching on TV. That is what happens when you are "staring down the barrel of a gun".

All I see is a bunch of excuses and deflections.
Why does Auburn cheat so much?

Um, might want to check your facts.

wouldn't and couldn't are two different things. Auburn might've gotten USC again in 2004 if Tubs had ever once kept his foot on the gas in a few games.

What are the excuses and where are the deflections ? Just stating the facts.
