AU can go 7-5 or maybe 8-4 with average play from Frazier. To go beyond that, they really need him to become a star. He doesn't have to be Cam Newton, but he needs to be a guy defenses worry about. The OL is too young and the defense too porous to win with a traditional clock killing ground game. They need Frazier to make his own plays and win with offense.

I'm not real sure where the undersized comments come from. Go down any other roster and the teams are not going to be too much bigger. Once those OL have another year or so in the weight program, it'll probably avg around 315-320.

Our 2 deep at DT are right at 300 lbs or over. The DE's are basically 250 and up - we're not a 3-4 with bigger DE's. The DB's are pretty much all around 190-200 lbs. Our OL is not small. They're young, but not small. Every WR is bigger this year. We've got a 260 lb FB.

The only place we could be considered undersized is LB, but only 2 of the LB's on the depth chart are under 230. Maybe RB, but Mason, Blakely and Grant are all right at 200 or over. Omac is the only one well under 200 lbs.

Compare our depth chart with LSU's. The only difference is OL, but they've maybe got the biggest OL in the country, and RB's.

When did you get to see the new AU defense with VanGorder and several new starters?

Settle down. This is a sports forum. Giving opinions and making predictions is all we do. My opinion is that AU needs Frazier to be a star to compete in the West.

Are AU fans really convinced that the disaster that has been the AU defense for the last 4 years is going to be instantly reformed in one year due to swapping coordinators? I think it will take some time.

I actually like the Auburn defensive line. They have good size, talent, and depth. They have one of the best pass rushers in the SEC.

I think he just doesn't want you to put so much stock in his opinion that you neglect to watch your team

They think Jake Holland is going to have a great year and that it will be hard for R Foster to beat him out next year.

Agreed. The 2012 AU team is shaping up to look similar to 2010 Auburn before we knew who Cam Newton was. It all depends on Frazier if they can have similar results.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, I see. However, Adam is supposed to eat 7 lbs of breakfast in Colorado, so kind of a toss up.

I like our secondary much better now then in 2010. Chris Davis will emerge as one of the SEC's best CBs this season, Whitehead looked good last season and is the smartest player on our defense, and once Therezie is back healthy (kinda banged up right now) he'll be a baller

Bad comparison. The 2010 AU team had a very good, veteran OL and that was HUUUGE. 2012 AU has a green line that will get abused by good DL's. Cam was also a JUCO guy who had started and played alot, Frazier...not so much. 2010 AU had an elite SEC power back in Dyer. No such luck this year for AU. And that's just the differences on offense. You get the point. The 2010 team had potential to be a good team, the 2012 version will be doing very well to get to 8 wins this year IMO.
