Someone should have come up with that term back then. Would have been appropriate. Once you win a title though doesn't really fit anymore.

can you find a single article that stated that LSU still deserved to play for the BCS on the day after the Arkansas loss?
what in the world does that have to do with anything? any person who says team X "deserves" to be there before the last games are played is both using subjective reasoning and is premature. again, the only substantive distinction between what happened in '07 and any other bcs year is in the minds of certain fans who are oversimplifying the matter.

The fact is that LSU started that December day #5. LSU needed #1 Missouri and #3 West Virginia to lose and for the voters to jump LSU over an idle UGA.
and none of this proves that rare equals luck

completely not analogous. the teams who are in the ncg are not there because they were drawn from a hat. this is going from bad to worse

to me the title is pretty worthless if you lose a bunch of games in the following years. You won a set in tennis but lost the match. It is hard to be consistently good than good for just one season.

oh my gosh how many times do i have to explain this?

But it's cute that are trying to lump LSU in with Bama
yes. it's reasonable. it's been explained several times already.

that's ridiculous. In pro sports, it is rare for teams not to take hits after winning a championship. The Marlins put together a team to win it one year and lost nearly the entire team after. Most teams peak at a certain time due to upperclassmen coming together and getting their shite together at the right time, that is what happened after Auburn won it in 2010, we lost like 30 players off that team.

That's what I'd tell myself if I were a Clemson fan too.

You won a few matches but never won a Gran Slam.

But I like that in your analogy winning the national title doesn't even equate to winning a match. Solid logic there.

You never did explain it, you just said you didn't mean what you said.

Without the miracle of 2007 they are virtually the same coach.
miracle.

miles, who has been as good as anybody since '05, as good as anybody except bama since '07, is basically the same as richt. not exactly.

There's a thread somewhere else on the front page that lays it out pretty explicitly and even uses your factors to do it.

i did multiple times. i said i was referring to a season that didn't include some off the wall, unbelievable event like scam newton or miraculous plays in multiple games.

my point is that, in response to the op, auburn's situation isn't like the 2 seasons that were great were the kind that bama or lsu had such as 2011. there were some pretty crazy things that happened that pretty much have never happened before.

now i've explained it for the 3rd time at least and it's not hard to understand. feel free to keep misrepresenting what i said.

it's an attempt but, falls pretty short. moreover, the timeframe is pretty selective. why not go back to '05 when both coaches were at their respective schools? it's already heavily in lsu's favor, winning the sec and playing in a ncg, but that would skew it even more in lsu's favor. uga has been quite consistent, no doubt but, lsu has been elite.

Going back to 05 helps UGA since, you know, they destroyed you in the SECCG that year.

not exactly. btw, that thread is firing a torpedo into your theory that uga is one of the teams "right there" with lsu. to say it's not going well is an understatement.

care to take a stab at any of the others?

Ok well then next time phrase it better than saying "straight up beat everyone". Because those two things aren't the same, at all.

And you're right our seasons weren't like LSU's in 2011, they were much better.
