If ppl dont pray in a manner that you approve, it is wrong.
No, if people pray for the purpose of winning over a recruit - then it's wrong. If people pray in ways that the Bible speaks against, then it's wrong. Pretty simple, really.

You said this first so therefore there must be no scripture for you to use in an argument. Sorry you can't have it both ways.
I pray to the baby Jeebus for forgiveness of my hypocrisy!

like i said...if you dont approve or if it doesnt match how you have perfectly interpreted the Bible..it is wrong.
Got it.
Got it.

How many times have you gotten together with a bunch of random people and prayed at the office?
It has happened, but I forgot to tell them I needed to know them for 2 years before we prayed....I am always forgetting the dang time clause for prayer

I must have somehow missed how TT did this with the recruits at Toomers Corner with the cameras turned on.
The OP:
quote:
"My highlight was Saturday night, going in the locker room and walking on the field," Swain said. "We stood in a circle around the 'AU' at the middle of the field. I just felt like this is where I need to be."
Then, Swain said, Auburn receivers coach Trooper Taylor led the recruits in a prayer,

Thank you for reposting Swains statement cause I will now show you the prayer was only icing on the cake for this young man

You see he felt Auburn was the place he needed to be and THEN they prayed...So I submit your honor the prayer did not influence the player he made the correct choice.

Ahhhh... this is the part where your judgementalism with regard to someone elses faith comes in I guess.
What does Scripture say about judging others, by the way?
I love how Auburn fans are bashing fans for questioning CTT's sincerity without truly knowing him while bashing Saban and calling him an atheist. There is plenty of hypocrisy to go around on both sides. Despite what your Auburn Creed tells you, you guys aren't anymore inherently righteous on this matter than anyone else on this board.

Okay. I don't actually care.
Though, all this praying crap is purely garbage and for "show".

Please point out to me where I called Tiny Nick an atheist.
A link or a quote will do.
Thanks!

agreed 100% GT - but you honestly cannot expect most fans to keep a level head about things, when someone of your fanbase comes on blasting one our coaches for somethign he did - and making the ignorant statement that he knows what the coach is infering.
yes there is plenty to go around, but he started it and as such should be ready to deal with the backlash.
Don't start nothing, won't be nothing.

What exactly did Auburn University allow Cecil Newton to do?
You rewarded him by playing his son that you knew he had tried to(or did) sell his son like a piece of meat or should I say for thirty pieces of silver. Auburn knew it was wrong, and the entire nation sees it as wrong, and Auburn can't understand why the country is not saying that they had the best team, the best players or the best coaches in the country. They may be getting all of these awards, but it's only because they won the championship, by whatever means, but they were awarded the championship. Cecil Newton brought disgrace to the Auburn program, and you have accepted it. He even threw it back in your face with his appearance at the championship game.
Now I do not blame the man for being there to support his son, but don't lie about it, and don't mislead the school by saying you weren't going to be there. That's what everyone has a hard time buying, the doing whatever you want and then telling the most stupid lies and expecting people to believe them. Just tell the truth, the game wasn't in Auburn, he won't travel with the team, he's a father and has a right to be there as a private citizen, and we'll sell our soul to win this championship and do not care what type of players we have. Just remember Greed and lies are also a sin.

I don't care. I just find it odd that anyone would complain that someone said "____ is an atheist" or challenge that the statement was made. It isn't an insult.

Yes. But, you can summarize and just put "ATPB". That'll cover it.
