You reap what you sow and I am proud to see the faith in Christ demonstrated by our players and coaching staff!

E. Smith and the guys in the Ga game certainly showed how committed they are.

I commended Chizik earlier in the year for the "It's a God thing" comments.
I do not buy Trooper's praying with recruits because he just wants what is best for them.
Scenario: You are a highly ranked recruit - with offers all over the country. You are being recruited heavily by schools all over. You tell a certain school that you are going to have to go home and pray about it a lot before you reach your decision and ask God where it is that He wants you to go.
You visit campus a week later, and the coaches pray with all of the recruits.
Do you think that might influence your decision?
It probably would mine.

We'll have to pray a bit harder for them brother!

No, but it's pretty easy to infer. Perhaps that's wrong of me, but I am having a hard time buying it - only because of the manner in which it was done. If he had taken Swain into his office and offered to prayed for him or his family - I wouldn't have started this thread.
i'm sorry, but this is just a bit ignorant. Troop pretty much has a routine where he prays before leaving the field, and not it is not mandatory for players to join. He does however ask if anyone would like to join and that is what he did with the recruits as well. They chose to pray with him and thats that. How is that so terribly wrong?

Valid point.

Until you know TT's actual intentions you should remember Matthew 7:1-5
quote:
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Trooper prays all the time and does so with whomever is present if they choose to join. The problem I see you really having is that a recruit who already is a verbal to AU discussed how it moved him to pray.
You claim to be Superman and therefore supposedly posess great powers. Feel free to summon the power to get over it already.

Scripture is pretty clear on the matter
Do all forms of Christianity agree on what Scripture says? Do they all agree on even the same translation from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek? Do they all agree that all of those different translations say the same thing?
Do Baptists agree with the Catholics on Scripture?
Do Assembly of God congregations agree with Lutherans?
How many different flavors and forms of Christianity with their own personal view of Scripture are there anyway?

How many "big time" recruits out of 10 (from the Southeast) do you think pray about their college destination before signing a LOI?

Which draws me to this question. Do you know his true intent?
No, but it's pretty easy to infer.
Ahhhh... this is the part where your judgementalism with regard to someone elses faith comes in I guess.
What does Scripture say about judging others, by the way?
