I actually don't mind the content of the OP as much as I hate the shitty posters it brings to the SECr.
These threads have brought more Barners than anyone else.
Solid backup to the original opinion... well done sir

If y'all don't quit fighting I'm going to make an effort to derail this thread.

I would think Finebaum has a vested interest in Auburn staying competitive.
Saban brought Finebaum national syndication, and I would also think that an impending Auburn demise could drop ratings drastically.
Now, the ratings would go through the roof during the proceedings, but I can't imagine his show would maintain its appeal without the Alabama/Auburn angle.
It really would be detrimental to the SEC as a whole, too.

I think you're right - radio guys have to change their stands to generate attention or keep the audience interested
What he says one way or the other as unsubstantiated opinion should usually just be taken as idle chatter to generate some sort of response
He's been around for a while right? Was he ever ahead of the curve when it came to stuff like the Means case? Or does he pretty much broadcast so many different opinions that he's going to be covered one way or the other?
I definitely think he hears stuff, and he knows what's going on. His track record with NCAA sanctions hasn't been as accurate as it has with coaching changes or those types of rumblings.
I've heard him say things aren't going to be a big deal and they explode, and I've heard him say things are a huge deal and they turn out to be nothing.
As far as all of this mess, I just think it's interesting that what he has said off the record in the past isn't necessarily congruent with what he says on air. Granted, I haven't talked to anyone recently who's eaten lunch with him or whatever to see what he's saying off the record now.

It would seem that he would want to keep Auburn fans happiest right now, since they are listening and going to the BCS.

Stop fighting about who's fanbase is shittier. Nothing good has come from blueTuna's thread as far as the overall quality of the SECr. LSU fans have migrated here from the Tiger Rant, Bama fans have made this board the official "Auburn is getting the death penalty" headquarters of the internet, and Auburn fans have come here to battle the bama fans.
No matter how you look at it, the quality of this board has gone down because of blueTuna's thread. Period.

as soon as the Means case broke he knew it was true because he knew most of the people involved. However, when the rumblings of the secret witness and Fulmer being involved began to surface he laughed it off. Until he saw the documentation Logan Youngs attorneys had then he started singing a different tune.

Auburn fans tend to quit listening to his show when they suck. He's trying to keep them on board as long as possible.
