Yes, Barbee did his schedule for a reason and it will pay off in the end. He is building a team and will have a good one in time. No, may not be this years team, but Barbee is a good coach. The naysayers have no clue how bad of shape the BB program was in, or they do know and are just homo flamers.

This. Barbee has done very well in recruiting, had he not had a few issues with it this team would be even better. We have a few guys coming in now but it will take time for them to get back into the groove of things. AU basketball is on the rise, not saying we'll be Duke but the team will be competitive and likely start making the tourney in the next few years.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer but Hawaii has an RPI of 324.

No debbie downer. For this AU team, travelling to Hawaii and beating them on their home floor is a good win. A win against LBS would be huge though.

Long Beach State's record doesn't come anywhere close to doing this team justice. Sure, the Beach is 5-5, but look closer. The 49ers have beaten Pitt in its own building. They lost by four at San Diego State, two at Montana, eight at Kansas and six at North Carolina, and they gave Louisville a decent run in the Yum! Center, too. This is an interesting tournament for Dan Monson's team. It clearly has the ability to hang with top teams on the road

See my edit above.

They also dominated Xavier last night. Granted, Xavier was shorthanded.

Sounds about right to me. I am hopeful, but would be surprised if AU could win this one. We are good for an AU team early in rebuilding process from the ground up, but not good in the realm of college basketball as a whole. Plenty of reasons to be hopeful for the future, but a win tonight would be a pleasant surprise to me.

AU couldn't play UNC and Kansas close on the road and couldn't beat Pitt at home the way LBS has.

When you see our team is still trying to gel, and have lapses in intensity. Along with some sloppy play and you look at the way LBS is playing it is understandable. AU has a lot of athleticism and talent, but mental part of their game is still maturing. Is the LBS-Auburn game on ESPNU again?

Apparently our football program is imploding so I have decided to jump on the Barbee bandwagon.

Seriously it is fun to watch the progress of the BB program.
