The SEC is also going to have a hard time proving the harm of allowing these two players to play while allowing another to play at Texas and a sixth year player at Ole Miss.

It’s hard to make the “They’re taking roster spots away from younger players” argument while being silent about the other two. The silence suggests that the league is biased in favor of the two schools it has said nothing about. The league must treat all member schools equally.

The league gets into muddier waters with its repeated allowance of pro basketball players and pro baseball players to return and play in league games.

That’s not a position I’d want to argue from.
