LOL!! They have someone on tape from the Louisville staff saying they need to be careful funneling the money because they're already on probation.

Just read more of the complaint and it doesn't appear likely to me pearl was involved at all. At least not the way the complaint reads now. Could be more the FBI has.
It could still be enough to warrant being fired (not saying it does or doesn't)

I haven't read this thread yet, but this is my favorite post over in the Auburn thread linked in the OP:
That's the most Auburn sentence ever.

As Pettifogger stated, Auburn is essentially the victim in the majority of this issue.

No, I'm referring to when this was the exception and not the rule. Now it seems that the more wrongs that are allowed then they must become the right.
If you don't want to play by the rules, then just cave and make your own rules.

I think there was more cheating in 1965 than there is today.

Player 1 is Auatin Wiley and Person lied to his mother about who the Agent was and she accepted money from the Agent.
how did he lie? who did he say the agent was?
Also, she accepted money, so has AU ruled him ineligible pending NCAA review?

It all started because Person needed $60,000. And Person stated if this scheme could continue and he could supplement his income, he wouldn't need to look for a higher paying job elsewhere.
Dude was making around $250k, had played for years in the nba, and been an nba assistant for years. What the frick was he spending his money on?

Will be hard to implicate Pearl in this but you can bet he knew about Person

Yeah, that's a bit over the top but overall they deserve positive recognition.
Their thread is pretty much the anti-Ole Miss way to respond. They're going with the "we're absolutely, totally, and completely fricked" approach instead of the "I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove anything" method used by Ole Miss.
Both may end up at the same place, but the AU folks won't be nearly as shocked if that happens.

Nothing from AU yet, but Wiley and whomever Player 2 is, will certainly be ineligible.

is this mostly an Adidas issue, or multiple brands? State uses Adidas. I'm just wanting to know if I should be concerned at this point.
Howland has a history with the NCAA
State was awful, until they hired Howland and suddenly started reeling off top recruiting classes
Yeah, might want to take a look at some things

I may have missed it, but we aren't talking about a recruiting angle here are we? The Auburn situation seems to be with existing players.

Small stuff maybe. Not on the level of today. Not the amounts.
The racketeering and fixes were organized crime syndicates. Not CEO's of major fricking shoe companies.
And about 1965... I'm not one to assume, and do realize your level of education exceeds me to my status of irrelevancy, but I'd be willing to bet a paltry sum that you know more about Boy George than Bob Dylan.

Feds have meetings audio and video recorded.

I know nothing about Boy George. I know quite a bit about Bob Dylan.
So no.
