That doesn't mater. All that matters is that Johnny agreed to abide by them when he became an NCAA athlete. He can't accept money for anything related to his skills or performance, and he can't knowingly sign things that he knows are going to be sold for money. If he, or anyone working on his behalf, solicit money for his signatures, regardless of whether they are paid or not, he is no longer an amateur athlete and his eligibility is done. Uncle Nate is the issue here, as much as anything - he's an agent!
I really couldn't give a shite about Mizzou (no offense), but this was spot on.

Hmmmm, I wonder is this is a telling sign.
John Paul Manziel and his wife, Michelle, just put their home near Texas A&M up for sale. They bought the property in June of 2011 to be closer to Johnny Football during his time at A&M. The home initially listed at $405,000 in May, but Mrs. Manziel (a College Station realtor) dropped the asking price to $379,000. Here are some highlights of the awesome house...

Oh, and you're a wanker for asking rather than keeping up.
In a strictly business sort of way.

Stop. Their house has been for sale since April. Try to tie that into whatever theory you want.

You obviously haven't read the entire thread. Which probably means you aren't insane - congrats for that. But there are plenty of Aggies who are done with JM.

Good to see you here! We need a bit of comedic relief. You may even soothe some hurt feelings among the regulars, with everybody unified against you. Please post again!

do people even read any of the 4300 or so responses before they post in here? Damn I have only been off for a few hours.
The investigation started in what Jan or Feb, but I will buy your April argument as long as you agree that they must have at least thought this is JFF final year.
While not monitoring this like I should have been doing, I have been listen to sirius, ESPN, surfing the net and this Uncle Nate shite is bizarre. He is just hanging around like a NBA players solo posse and he is managing JFF career. The football turtle? WTF?
I lot of commentators have been saying that JFF's parents have been worried about this for a while. Is that who got to keep most of the money? How did he feed himself, live, etc? I assume he is not eating at the training table if they have one. (Another reason for Superconference. ) That may be the NCAA's biggest concern in all this. Junior agents along for the ride. What could go wrong here?

Yeah basically Super Ag, the latest is that Frank & Bash or whatever they're called are gonna use Uncle Nate in the Cam's daddy role and try to put it all on him. I guess we'll see whether or not that loophole was closed for sure or not. Many say it wasn't, but it needs to be or this shite will never stop and who could blame players in the future for trying it.
shite needs to stop. Stop letting them get away with it and they'll quit doing it so blatantly.
BTW Super Ag I dig you avatar.

Are the good ags still planning on the scorched earth method of Manziel defense?

Guys, the phone recording is a red herring. The NCAA is not bound by any rules of evidence, due process, or fair play. (For 11th time)
This has caused them to be drug in front of congress and explain themselves multiple times. (I posted that here)They say because they are a private organization they don't have to have due process. (The supreme court in a close opinion 5-4, has agreed at least three times.) posted also. They also say because they don't have police power, and subpoena power etc, that they almost never get actual evidence of pay-offs etc and they use something like a totality of circumstance test, or what we call preponderance of evidence, which means looking at all the facts is it more likely than not true. I will try to find this and post it later.
They can look at the tape and decide that is enough and he is suspended. Or not. Maybe just do a few phone interviews. JFF has no right to an attorney, (Can have one if he wants too) to cross examination the witness or even to see evidence against him. Oh and it is a closed hearing.
Go to the USC website and look up all their gripes about their penalty from the Bush fiasco.
Fair has nothing to do with any of this.
Now, they are also the biggest bunch of pansies in the world and usually pick on the little guys, so who knows what they will do.
They are inconsistent as hell in their hearings and the application of the rules, and the evidence needed. That is what make this so hard to call and so hard for A&M to gauge what the hell to do here.
They should, in my humble opinion, follow whatever evidence that Whitehorse lawyers recommend. Regardless of what the track record is, they are good lawyers and have been through this before. (Plus they are monitoring this site)(LOL)
But no way that hasn't even been given yet. I don't think they have even interviewed JFF yet.

This.
People think the NCAA is a court of law. It's not.

Even in a criminal court of law, many people have been convicted with circumstantial evidence and hearsay.
You only need a burden of proof "beyond a reasonable doubt."
In civil court you need a preponderance of evidence.
Is is beyond a reasonable doubt to say that Johnny Cash made fat stacks off of his signature based off of things he said in the videos?

It reminds me of when my youngest brother walked in the door smelling like reefer. Dad was like, "Have you been smoking pot?" My brother, "No!"
My Dad, "bullshite! Give me the keys to your car."
No judge or jury is needed. He didn't need to see the smoking doobie to be convinced. He smelled it.
The NCAA smells a rat. They don't need to see it.
