As far as the Manziels selling their house, Billy Liucci is a complete shitbag, however:

Let me also say this before taking this thread down because I think it is a ridiculous 'story' and have argued as much with the author on twitter today:
The ACTUAL, FACTUAL story is this: Meri-Margaret Manziel - Johnny's younger sister - graduated from Allen Academy in Bryan a year early and will attend Texas A&M this fall. The Manziel family moved to College Station a couple of years ago when Johnny inked with A&M. These days, Paul Manziel's job is at a car dealership in Longview. It's been that way for well over a year now but the Manziel's didn't want Meri-Margaret to have to change high schools. Long story short, Michelle Manziel and her husband - who have been living apart for an extended period of time (something I'm sure many married posters have had to struggle through at some point in their professional lives) - are moving to Tyler, where they'll finally be once again living under the same roof.
I know, it's not nearly as scandalous a story as the national media would like to make it out to be (along with the fact that the headlines don't show that the house has been on the market since late April) but that's the actual truth in case anyone was actually interested in hearing it.

Clearly Les Miles is also the head coach of Michigan.
I think more than just espn believe that was going to happen.
Much like i think it's much more than just them that believe this happened too.

In every case I mentioned, ESPN pushed the story again, and again, and again, and again, then were called out in disastrous fashion by a more reliable source.

Other than in the fight song, those words are like nails on a chalkboard to me. They're not all bad, or always wrong, they're just crazy at times.
Ummmmm
Crazies like Tidefans.com don't just grow on a tree maine - it takes years to cultivate that caliber of madness and idiocy.

How does declining to personalize an item indicate that it has been done before?

so they have to be wrong this time?
Believe it or not they've also gotten plenty right. But those aren't as sensational and don't go to your point that they can't be right now.

I won't say there's grounds for a libel case here, but witht he Newton case it seemed like ESPN always used "Sources say" to sidestep any blame. Here they're saying "ESPN says"

I don't even know what this question is in reference to from my pervious post.
I'll take a stab though. So he didn't personalize it, so that cuts a hole in some of the story being reported, so you're saying no payment happened?

This thing is still going? Haven't ya'll hashed it all out enough?

Well they were right after all.
The NCAA's letter said, ceicl shopped cam to MSU, which is what espn reported.
They did say they had sources that Auburn gave him 200k. that part they missed, but it's not like they fabricated a story out of thin air that didn't have legs. Cam was shopped to MSU, those, as far as the NCAA is concerend, are facts.
There are times when i think the legend of that story outshines the actual story as it was presented. It was all the secondary fools like redfish and danny sheridan that spouted the crazy shite.

Look at the other threads on the front page, at least there is room for interpretation and discussion in this one, not just "YOUR TEAM SUCKS"

Actually, it's "ESPN'S JOE SCHAD reports"

Yeah. The last thing you want if there is even a remote possibility of the allegations being true is a case brought to court where evidence is produced that actually works in reverse against you. The NCAA sits in the courtroom and grins. You just did their work for them.
Exactly. The way ESPN is pursuing this, they're almost daring the Manziels to prove them wrong. That's why I believe they're so confident. They know they're right, and that the Manziels will never actually file a suit against them because they couldn't prove the libel. Because Johnny did it.

Where the hell is Yahoo and their "Grim Reaper" writer, Charles somebody, that you never ever want to report on your program?

Nowhere to be found.

At one point, ESPN heard a broker ask Manziel if he would take additional cash to sign with special inscriptions, but Manziel declined, indicating he had done that before and it led to questions.
I'm not sure who this is addressed to but I don't see that it changes anything. Assuming Schad got the exchange right, the broker essentially asked 2 questions in one sentence and Manziel answered half of them.
FWIW, I believe he's absolutely guilty. But I don't see him being suspended on what we know now, either by the NCAA or A&M. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing for A&M seems to depend in large part on the age of the Aggie you ask. Losing him would be bad for college football, but I think good for A&M other than the really dumb young fans who weren't even born during the Pony Express. I'm really tired of checking in every Sunday morning to read how our QB has disgraced our university this week.

The way that article is written is just awful. It could literally mean anything. All we have to go by is what the one person who claims to have seen it reports. He could take any quote from the video he wishes and twist it to serves his purpose.
It's like me asking you, "Will you poopslap yourself for $10?" To which you reply, "No." Then when I'm writing my article I say, "Jrodan can be heard asking piggidyphish if he will poopslap himself for $10, he declined, indicating he had done it before and it raised questions."
I just twisted one of the quotes from his article to fit my point.

Wasn't trying to prove anything, just wanted to quote the article to reference the wording.

Exactly. That's a major difference. They're owning the information instead of citing unnamed sources. They believe this.
