I’m not sure that’s the whole story, actually. It seems he weighed his options. His statement also failed to mention his head coach a single time. It was very odd.

Based on what? Please provide a link that supports your claim.
In reality, as was said above, anyone who follows basketball knew from day one Reid was a one and done regardless of where he went. You're trying to make something of nothing.
