If he was 18 and she was 14 should he not have been. Just because a judge sympathetic to the LSU cause doesn't call it what it was doesn't change the fact of what it was. Re-defining things to make it sound better doesn't change the matter of what it is. Again if this was anyone other than an elite athlete they would be charged and in jail.

Reverse the roles which is still not a fair comparison as a 14 yr old boy while not capable of making a mature consenting opinion could at least be seen as having the strength to refuse

Would the senior cheerleader still be a "child rapist" in your eyes?

I'm not going over it anymore. I'll just tell you that you don't know shite about that incident. Like, not a single thing. For starters, Hill was 18 for all of 20 days. And there was a video that actually led to the reduced charge and sentence.

Yes, I realize people see the A next to my screen name and think that's what drives my line of thinking. It in honesty it doesn't, not on this issue. I have a daughter three years younger than this girl was at the time of the incident. I am not naive enough to think that some of these little girls are not more advanced than girls that age when I was that young but it doesn't make it right. Is the perception worse in this case than of the genders were reversed sure but that is because of physical strengths, but make no mistake a 14 yr old boy is not in any way mature enough to make that d idiom for himself which is why this is against the law and should be. The assault just shows this guys character and his complete lack of guilt over his behavior. He has already forgotten while on probation that he took advantage intentional or not of a child. Hard to say yes when a girl comes on to you absolutely, but as a legally consenting adult it was his duty not take advantage of her. How would you feel if you were 18 and you took advantage of a girl 14 yrs of age who is not able to make a consenting decision?

I don't know why people think that when you turn 18 in high school, your persona changes. It's not like you're 17 one day and when you come back to school the next day as a 18 year old, you stop looking at your female classmates under 18.

But answer me this, if you had a 14 year old son who came home to tell you the hot senior captain of the cheerleading squad let him go down on her, would you congratulate him or label the cheerleader as a "child rapist"?

Oh ok so only 18 for 20 days means you're not 18. You can't be serious. And whether the little girl was promiscuous or not is irrelevant to the fact that a 14 yr old girl can not consent to have sex with an 18 yr old man. Some of you are seriously warped in your thinking.

That's a lot of words man. However, I have daughters 13 & 17 and I've never worried about them passing out blowies in a locker room. We've raised them better. I know the girl's family from the Hill incident. No one said what happened was right, it's just that no one was surprised but daddy.

Just think, if we're warped, what about your coach who offered the guy an education and scholarship to play football at Alabama even after all of this?

Obviously not which is why he was charged with carnal knowledge. The family didn't want to go to court because of the video.

If she is 18 yes, call me foolish if you wish but I pray my kids remain celebate(sp) until marriage. They don't need to make the same mistakes I did. At 14 they just don't understand what they're getting into. If she was 16 I would consider the idea that she can make a consenting decision however 16 yr old girls are still very emotional beings who confuse love with sex.

When have I said Saban offering this guy a scholarship was ok? My only point was that even after getting off for something like that where you or I would go to jail, he breaks probation not with simply a fight as some have tried to define it but it was assault. The assault is easily the lesser of the two evils.

I've got bad news for you.

At 14 years of age, Louisiana law says a girl can have all the sex she wants with boys who are between 14 and 16 years of age.

You've got to do more than pray about the matter. You've got to educate them and talk to them because most high school boys are eager to get in any girl's pants they can.

My daughter is 3 now. I'm hoping the eChastityBelt will come out between now and when she starts junior high.

I have I have already discussed this with my 11yr old daughter and hated to confess that dad didn't do the right things. I am trying to get her to understand that boys will absolutely prey on a girls self esteem to get what they want and to not define her worth based on what a boy thinks of her. My sons are 8 and 6 so I have a little time with them

I wonder if you soap-boxed like this when Upshaw was put on "behavioral probation" but didn't miss a single practice?

Since when does a domestic dispute between two consenting adults with her allegedly hitting him and him pushing her down according to police reports equate to a man having sex with a child? How long has it been since you've traded your morals and good sense for a win in college football? This is just deflection.

Thank you IambamaFan for just telling it like it is. It's just going straight over the LSU peeps heads.
