It's very relevant. More people died from OxyContin that Kratom.

More people die from damn heart disease. Why didn't you bring up cheeseburgers?

This thread is about the shite they're selling in a gas station that was potentially linked to the deaths of some Ole Miss students. It's unregulated, easily manipulated, and legal to buy over the counter in just about any gas station in north mississippi. Let's try to stay on topic here.

Correct. And regardless, if this killed the students… It is still illegal to sell within the city of Oxford.

Why you guys get so excited and upset and start name calling and making wild accusations of what posters like me believe in?

It's weird.

So many on this board do that. You're either Maga or you're the small % that represents the extreme left. You pretend a middle doesn't exist.

There's a pretty big section of the electorate that considers themselves moderates or independents etc. that despise the extremists on both sides.

You'll get to meet them in November.

Don't worry. This wasn't stupid at all.

Not heavier usage, but possibly higher prevalence . But, so what? Are you worried that you'd suddenly start using it? Making things illegal simply fuels the blackmarket and makes things more dangerous. The "War on Drugs" has created all of these dangerous blackmarkets and put shite like fentanyl out there causing deaths. Just because something is legal doesn't mean you have to "rah rah" and cheer for it. If someone isn't hurting you or others (and only themselves by being dumb), then it's not really your business.

And before anyone asks - I've never used Kratom and never would.

It’s an invasion and insurrection. Why do we allow these people here? They are not compatible with our country. Not only that, they are antithetical to everything we stand for. Their stated goal is our destruction and they are working on it.

Because I'm not interested in regulating the behavior of others.

Correct - this thread is people jumping to a conclusion before the toxicology reports come out. Folks are gathering up pitchforks and blaming deaths on the idiots of this store when it may not even be the case.

It's unregulated...

Hence - my introduction of OxyContin to this discussion, as it was easy to see where you'd be argue for more government.

you cannot die from kratom overdose. that's boomer social media mass paranoia nonsense. natural, organic kratom leaf powder supplements do not have the chemistry to cause respiratory arrest. Tylenol will kill you dead; kratom supplements will not. local pd's love to villianize it because it's one more way to lock people up. it's physically -scientifically- impossible to die from a kratom overdose.

this does not include gas station liquid elixirs and chemical synthetic adaptations to bypass bans, of which these 3rd worlders will gladly sell. unfortunately for the people who buy from reputable sources and use it to manage chronic pain, none of this will matter to the holy rollers - most of which are medicated themselves on various stimulants, opioids, benzos and barbituates.

these 3 should be made to face the wall and their family billed by the government for the cost of the bullets to taxpayers.

What kind of question is this?

You incorrectly assume that the “black market” would disappear with the legalization of drugs.

People will still cut their drugs with cheaper byproducts because it’s financially beneficial to them. There are a large number of dispensaries where I live but there are still people selling on the streets.

That's their choice. It doesn't infringe upon any of your rights for them to do so. I go to a dispensary myself, and have enough common sense to not buy shite off the street.

I was in a gas station this morning and saw a shelf with it.

I told the clerk that there are reports of people dying from kratom and she kinda shrugged and said something like she has to sell what the owners tell her to..

I mean i get it, but maybe inform them it could be harmful

You have a gross misunderstanding of what caused the OxyContin epidemic. Government regulation did not cause the epidemic. The pharmaceutical industry lining the pockets of doctors to overprescribe opioids is what caused it.

It was a simple as “just go see a doctor and you’ll get some”….which isn’t much different than “just go to the gas station and get some”.

I would think true moderates would realize who is responsible for the open border and influx of illegals.

This whole story is so confusing. Iv'e taken kratrom for years now, it definitely will not kill you unless you take like 100x the recommended dose I guess. Idk, I haven't ever taken "kill an elephant" quantities of it before.

Are these dudes in the OP just workers taht work at the vape shop? If so then yeah they shoudl be in trouble for selling kratom when it's no legal in MS. It's not legal in AL either so I have to wait til Im' in GA or FL to buy it. So I get that. But "arrests made in the ole miss deaths" make it seem like these dudes killed them, or intnetionally spiked what they sold, which I would highly doubt.

These dudes probably just got kratrom from a legal state and figured it'd be easy to make a few extra bucks under the table selling it in a college town. Not legal, not right, but are they killers? I would say no, although all I know is what's in the OP. I would be willing to bet almost anything at all that these kids died from ingesting something else.

I agree. I don't think the government does a good enough job explaining what they are doing or what they are trying to accomplish with ICE.

When they deport these people, there should be more made about it. Explain what the goals are, what the current achievements to those goals are.

Whose idea was it to put ICE in masks?

All the news stories of the hard working hispanics that they chase down and tackle on JOB SITES while slugs like these in the article are actively selling illegal drugs to our kids and making no effort to assimilate.

The idea you have that people exist in a vacuum is greatly misguided. When drugs take over a community…..the community suffers. Drug-related crimes still exist even with the dispensaries. You may not care but I don’t want my kids growing up in a community where people end up dead in the street.

No, my argument is simple - OxyContin was regulated, but didn't prevent all of the deaths is caused because the FDA (like 99% of government) is corrupt and should be abolished.

So again - regulations != safety, only the very incorrect illusion.

It’s incredible simple. like……unbelievably simple.

I’m going to guess it’s the agents who know that people will dox the shite out of them and threaten the safety of their families.

Once again…..the epidemic has nothing to do with the government entities which regulated them. This is all well-documented.

Like the "regulated" opioid epidemic caused? Like the crack epidemic (which you can thank daddy government for creating) caused? Has there been a Kratom epidemic causing a surge of deaths in the streets?
