They are saying the soil will be effected for up to 7 years and have no plans to replace at this time as it would poison the new trees. I am not sure what a thorough removal of soil could do to speed that up.

Oh I understood you...I was just expounding my take on this a little.

And sorry again for the redneck element who even make an attempt at deflecting or excusing this bullshite.

Well if Auburn needed some good bulletin board material for this years game at Auburn I think they have found it. Auburn is gonna beat Bama silly this year.

I don't know about the players, but the Auburn fans tempers will be as hot as the core of the sun when the Bama fans come to town...

Andy Staples at Sports Illustrated has written the best article on this so far:

you seriously think any player cares about some trees? Even the Stanford players would laugh at that one.

"crimson saint" will strongly disagree with you. He finds this all quite hilarious and has expressed that in more than one thread today.

Thank goodness he is an extreme minority.

The vast majority of Bama (note my correct spelling for one of the only times you'll ever see it) fans in this forum so far have been shocked and sympathetic without question.

But even in this thread there are a very few who "condemn" the act but then immediately start equivocating and rationalizing. I think they feel like "crimson saint" just without the guts to admit it.
