What were the stat comparisons like the last two years when y'all struggled against us? We pretty much always play you guys close, I expect the same again.

That would be proof that Arky coaching and preparation does play a part in this. If Arky wins the coaches brought about that "winning attitude" Jimbo always talks about.

That's in large part because they keep everything in front of them. They'll give up a few yards on the ground to keep you out of the end zone. A "bend, but don't break" coverage that actually works.
Having said that, it changes a little with each game, so we'll have to wait and see what Odom rolls out for A&M.
