What's a better question is why isn't the main campus of the UA system in Little Rock, where it should be? Maybe we should move it... LOL. If it weren't for carpetbaggers and damn yankees wanting to 'punish', it would be in LR. Do the research.

Can't believe so many took the bait the OP threw out to reignite the GSD. I think he knew very well what he was doing...

Because half the state has always been arse backwards when it comes to forward thinking in business. It's a damn shame!

This is the attitude that causes a lot of the divide between hog fans. NWA and Central Arkansas/LR have never got along, and never will.

What's the problem? NWA is white collar and a richer part of the state, fact.
I'm sorry if I hurt your feeling, deal with it they say. "We didn't come to Paint" we came to make money, ha.

Central Arkansas can't even get a Toyota Plant. Blame the state government for having has high of Taxes as California and very non business friendly.

Example: Film Tax Break Texas 20%, Louisiana 20%, Arkansas 12% (You idiots I wonder which states they will go to) Considering at some portions of each state are the exact same.

It took how many years to enact a state lottery which now is putting thousands of kids to college.

arse Backwards!

In 2008, the contract with War Memorial Stadium was extended through the 2016 football season by athletic director Jeff Long. Two games a year in LR, one of them a conference game. Warren Stephens threatened to drop support if all games were moved to Fayetteville. All about money...

Yes, but we were scheduled to play 3 games a year again there starting this season or next. What Long did was add a couple years to the contract and keep it at 2 games a year..

Bingo, because we lose money by playing in Little Rock.

A new Mitsubishi plant is/was being built at Chaffee Crossing building wind turbines, or something to do with them.

You may not have noticed, but NWA is also in Arkansas. You're talking about the whole state.

I know you must feel special, being in L.A. and all, but no one really cares.

Yes....

NWA is by far and away, it's not even close, leading the way in Arkansas.

People don't like facts but I do.

Little Rock SUCKS.. It has, river, rail, large highway access and NOTHING to show for it. More gangs than football players.

We do not "lose" money, but we fail to maximize revenue potential.

Let's not kid ourselves, there are several OOC games that would be better served to be played in LR due to the lack of attendance in Fayetteville. I'm sure when the next negotiations go around, Long will try to move these games to LR to move LSU to Fayetteville. I would imagine.

Ms. State will remain in LR due to the pathetic showing of their fans and an interest level rivaling the weak OOC teams.

Weak, bring me something better.

Why don't you live outside of Arkansas, west coast and east coast, fore more than 5 years then get back to me and see how Arkansas is doing in the grand scheme of business?

Losing money in my book. The fix is already in just not executed.

Jeff Long isn't stupid. He's setting up the system to pull the plug in 2016.

I love NWA, but NWA calling LR backwards hicks is just ridiculous. If I remember right, LR metro has about twice the GDP of NWA.

The worst attendance in Fayetteville was 62,000 for a D2 team during hunting season.

Little Rock's limit is 55,000 if we are playing Florida.

Please! tell me you understand the economic impact here?

arse backwards logic again.. :shakes head:

In the grand scheme of things, I can tell you that California is leading the way in percentage of the population being unemployed and is also undergoing massive cutbacks in funding education...

California is screwing up royally but without Cali the USA would HURT BADLY.. We wouldn't even miss my home state Arkansas for it's revenue nor mississippi.

As I said.. People hate facts.

Please tell me you do not believe the inflated numbers given for these games?

They were doing the same thing in basketball with Pel counting season tickets sold, but seats unfilled as "attended". You say 62,000, I say lucky to be 50,000 having actually attended these games...

Right, but your argument was for games to be played in NWA, then you started talking about the problems of the entire state.
