To get really specific about it, the exact moment it started to "go wrong" was the 2016 Missouri game.

Arkansas had Mizzou down 24-7 at the half, and then rolled over and died and lost.

Arkansas had a chance to end the regular season with 8 wins, and Mizzou had only 3 wins all year coming into that game.

But somehow, Bielema found a way to blow a 24-7 halftime lead against a bad Mizzou team.

Then, in the 2016 Belk Bowl, Bielema had a 24-0 lead against VA Tech, and found a way to blow that one, too.

If Arkansas wins the 2016 Missouri game And/Or the 2016 Belk Bowl, Bielema probably survives the awful 2017 season, and gets another chance in 2018.

But back-to-back total collapses (24-7 halftime lead and 24-0 halftime lead) leading into the disastrous 2017 season was simply too much.

Those 2 games are WHEN it all went wrong.

WHY it went wrong is a different story.

But WHEN it all went wrong is pretty much set.

Either you run something like Bobby did, hoping to just cover defensive and line issues with offensive firepower or you get overwhelmed.
Where the hell did this narrative come from? Early Nutt years we were grounding people into the dirt just like any other SEC team. Bert's philosophy did and could have continued to work at Arkansas, but as others stated he just got lazy and the leadership within the program became content with mediocrity and prioritized what the team GPA looked like more than the scoreboard.

Yeah I always roll my eyes when people say that too. His 2015 offense finished second in the SEC in scoring. We scored 54 on Auburn, 31 on LSU, and 50+ on Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Obviously his offensive style worked with the right players. We never had an offense as bad as his last two defenses were.

Losing to A&m in year 5 sealed his fate.

He clearly didnt possess the work ethic to compete in the brutal SEC West. You have to be a tireless recruiter to compete, and he just never was

Not just a tireless recruiter... but a hard worker at everything. Bielema's philosophy was based around taking it easy in the off season so everyone (coaches included) would be fresh for the season. That will not work in the SEC.

hes a fat frick with zero work ethic. Should've recognized it when we hired him. If you dont have enough self respect and will power to keep yourself in shape you dont have what it takes to win in the sec. It actually takes hard work to succeed down here. I also think he has below average intelligence
