His statement would not have been as stupid if both of those players didn't have Bama offers.

Rivals is a joke now that they are basically running with a skeleton crew.
I spoke with one of their recruiting guys on the chat when the re-rankings came out and he told me that they dropped Brandon Allen solely because they hadn't reevaluated him. How do you drop a kid from a spot when you evaluated him and put him there in the first place?
They still haven't moved Smothers from Tackle to Guard despite our Rivals guys telling them to multiple times. He is one of the top Guard recruits in the country and yet they have him low as a Tackle because his measurable aren't that of an elite Tackle. No shite, that's because he is a Guard. At least Scout and ESPN have him at Guard and have him ranked as one of the top Interior Line prospects in the country which he is.

getting blue chip offensive guys isn't going to help out a very talentless and horribly coached defense. the offense is already excellent.
So, should the Hogs should quit recruiting great offensive talent until we improve the defense. That makes a hell of a lot of sense. Damn. The idiocy of some posts is beyond believable. The defense has improved each year under Petrino and will continue to do so. You do realize that some of our best defensive talent are freshman and sophomores, don't you?

I had one of the Rivals guys tell me that Allen was not accurate at all. Well this season he is completing 76% with 30 Touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

I wonder if they've even watched film on him. At the time of the re-evaluations they said that they hadn't even been to NWA to see Allen, Cook, Smothers etc. If you watch his video you can tell he has a very good arm. Once Petrino works on his mechanics he will be a stud.
Not to mention Austin is going to be even better and we have the inside track there.

Most Rivals "talent evaluators" know as much about evaluating talent as my American Bulldog.

don't put words into my mouth, broseph. i'm just saying if i was the arky staff, my top priorities would be some defensive blue chippers.

arky has so many 5.7 s that it looks like the rivals guys are just fricking with it. lol
Probably if you dug through Rivals finances you would find that Arthur Blank is an investor.
That son of a bitch...

The Hogs are recruiting as hard for defensive players as they are offensive players and have already landed several difference makers. If you think otherwise then obviously don't know what you are talking about.

sounds like a class kid, glad he chose the Hogs.

lmao. No such thing as a 3 star receiver with offers from USC, Florida, Bama, and Arkansas. If any of those four offer you as a receiver you are a three star in my book. If two or more offer you are a four star at least. And I'm not saying Arkansas is on the recruiting plain of the other three, but BP knows receivers.

Why do you keep harping on recruiting to the defensive side of the ball? We have, and are recruiting that side of the ball, and very well. It is as if you make comments and have not even glanced at our commit list....
LB: Brock Haman 6'4" 235 4.6
DT: Demarcus Hodge 6'1" 310 5.0
DE/LB: Darell Kelly-Thomas 6'5" 220 4.8
DE: Grady Ollison 6'5" 276 4.9
DB: Roderick Ryles 6'1" 190 4.5
DB: Jared Singletary 5'11" 180 4.4
DT: Robert Thomas 6'1" 310 5.0
DB: Isaih Wiley 6'1" 185 4.4
There are only so many scholly's available. We lose more on offense than we will on defense this year.

If, and I do mean IF, we get the remaining guys on the d side of the ball that we feel good about, this will be by far the best, and balanced, class Petrino has had here

Actually Robert Thomas is up to 330 and it aint fat, he is an absolute monster.

It could possibly be the best class top to bottom since the '60s...
