-The University of Arkansas will unveil Nolan Richardson Court at Bud Walton Arena prior to the UALR exhibition.

-Last March, the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees unanimously approved a resolution to name the court at Bud Walton Arena for Hall of Fame coach Nolan Richardson. He was 389-169 in 17 seasons as Arkansas head coach, set a school record for wins and had a .697 winning percentage.

- He led the Razorbacks to 13 NCAA Tournament appearances including six Sweet 16’s (1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996), four Elite Eights (1990, 1991, 1994, 1995), three Final Fours (1990, 1994, 1995) a national runner-up finish (1995) and the 1994 NCAA Championship.

-In Richardson’s 22 combined years as a head coach at the collegiate level — at Western Texas Junior College, the University of Tulsa and the University of Arkansas — he compiled a record of 508-206 (.711) and became the only head coach in college basketball history to win a National Junior College Championship, NIT Championship and NCAA Championship.

- This will be the first meeting between Arkansas and Little Rock on the hardwood.

- However, Eric Musselman is familiar with the Trojans as UALR faced Musselman’s Nevada squad last season — a game the Wolf Pack won 87-59 in Las Vegas.

- Both Eric Musselman and Darrell Walker have both been head coaches in the NBA.

- Eric Musselman welcomed Darrell Walker back to campus last April to watch the Razorbacks work out.

- Darrell Walker was an Arkansas All-American in 1983, a year Arkansas went 26-4 and reached the NCAA Regional semifinal.

- Walker scored 1,325 points in three seasons at Arkansas and averaged 5.1 rebounds per game for his career.

- Isaiah Joe On Jerry West Award Watch List

- Named after Class of 1980 Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four Most Valuable Player Jerry West, the annual honor in its sixth year recognizes the top shooting guards in Division I men’s college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates

- Joe is coming off a record-setting freshman campaign as he drained 113 3-pointers for the Razorbacks. The Fort Smith native set the school record for 3-pointers made, set the SEC freshman record for 3-pointers made per game (3.32), tied the SEC freshman record for 3-pointers made and ranks fourth in NCAA history for 3-pointers made by a freshman in a season. Joe additionally was just the fourth SEC freshman to lead the league in 3-point field goal percentage for a season (.414). Joe was additionally just one of seven players in the NCAA to make at least 110 3-pointers and shoot at least 41 percent from long range.

- Joe is one of seven SEC players to make the 20-person watch list, joining Anthony Edwards(Georgia),Tyrese Maxey (Kentucky),Skylar Mays (LSU), Breein Tyree(Ole Miss), A.J. Lawson (South Carolina) and Jordan Bowden (Tennessee)

- University of Arkansas sophomore Isaiah Joe was named to the media’s 2019-20 preseason All-SEC team while the Razorbacks were predicted to finish 11th this season, it was announced today by the league office.

- Joe, who was named second team All-SEC last season, is one of the top returning scorers in the SEC. The Fort Smith product averaged 13.85 points per game last season and ranks third among returning players in the league trailing Ole Miss’ Breein Tyree (17.91 ppg) and Texas A&M’s Savion Flagg (13.88 ppg).

- Joe set several records by making 113 3-pointers last season – setting an Arkansas single-season mark and tying an SEC freshman record. His 113 triples were the fourth-most ever by an NCAA freshman in a season and his 3.32 3-pointers made per game set an SEC single-season record by a freshman. Joe additionally led the SEC in 3-point field goal percentage, becoming just the fourth SEC freshman to accomplish the feat.

- Joe not only made a name for himself on the offensive end, but he ranked 10th in the SEC in steals (1.50), led the Razorbacks by taking 27 charges and recorded 110 deflections.

- Arkansas is embarking on the first year with Eric Musselman as Razorback head coach. Last year, Arkansas had one of the youngest teams in the NCAA, having no seniors. This year, Arkansas will have a veteran squad featuring three seniors – including two graduate transfers that have combined for nearly 2,000 points, four returning starters and eight returning lettermen with no freshmen. Also, despite losing NBA draft pick and last year’s leading scorer/rebounder Daniel Gafford, Arkansas still returns 68.8 percent of its scoring, 62.6 percent of its rebounding, 88.0 percent of its 3-pointers made, 83.2 percent of its assists and 68.8 percent of its steals.

- While the Hogs are picked 11th, Arkansas has exceeded its preseason predictions in each of the last six years

Nolan is the best coach in Arkansas history, glad he’s finally getting the court named after him.

This should be a fascinating game. UALR is going to play out of their minds given that they are finally getting a shot at the Razorbacks. Should be a good test, even for an exhibition game, for our new coach.

I forgot basketball is about to start. Good luck this season.

- The Trojans are set to return a young lineup that saw four true freshmen earn significant playing time while combining for 152 starts in 2018-19. The quartet was responsible for 37.8% of the Trojans' minutes, 35.6% of the points and 35.7% of the rebounds last season.

- Little Rock added nine newcomers in the offseason to bolster the roster. That group consists of five transfers, three freshmen and a former Trojan manager being elevated to the roster.

- Sunday's game in Fayetteville will be one for the record books as the first ever meeting between the Trojans and Razorbacks, but will have even more significance as four Trojans from the state of Arkansas will play a game at Bud Walton Arena wearing a Little Rock uniform for the first time: Kris Bankston (Dewitt), Terrell Curtis II (Maumelle), Sam Dunkum (North Little Rock) and Ryan Pippins (Little Rock).

- Little Rock has gone head-to-head against 10 of the 14 SEC programs during its program history, posting an overall record of 2-15 against the conference. The Trojans have notched victories over Mississippi State (70-68 in 1995) and Tennessee (69-59 in 1993), as Alabama, Arkansas, LSU and Missouri are the lone members of the conference Little Rock has not faced.
