Arkansas Recruiting Class for 2011 - a preemptive strike

Petrino has already offered something like 10 instate guys for the 2011 class. There's some reasonable expectations out there that another 2-5 could be offered between now and February. It's an uncharacteristically strong year for Arkansas high school football.
Anyway, when those guys get ranked, there will VERY likely only be a few that are higher than 3 stars. So my question is, does the fact that Petrino is choosing to offer these guys THIS early, prior to being evaluated by Rivals, and with countless other high school athletes available...will any of that change your opinion when the rankings start coming out? Or is Petrino "settling" before the game even starts? Other explanations or theories?
Yeah - It's the offseason.

Imo Petrino is offering guys who he knows hell prob have to settle on. Im sure he will offer some bigger guys but once they chose to go to other schools he can come back to the in state guys now. I dont get why this year he chooses to offer so many instate guys when last year he waited a little while to offer Dyer didnt he?

Wouldn't look into it either way. Petrino's class will be much better this year.

Probably not a BAD thought. Nowadays people keep talking about these "non-commitable" offers. Guess he could be going that route.
2009 was a pretty weak year in Arkansas, which is pretty common. They had an offer out to Dyer AT LEAST by his junior season, I believe. It was Moseley that they waited so long to offer.

Michael Dyer butthurt.

I'm not completely sure it will. If we sign the majority of the instate guys we've offered, it's probably going to look about like 2010 in terms of stars. Just curious what you would base that thought on? Inside info?

Yeah, just congradulating you early on the recruits. Something wrong or are you just being defensive just because I posted?

Arkansas fans are the ones that are obnoxious to you, right? Just checking...
Thanks for the contribution, though.

Well I had posed a question towards the end, but you answered my question with a question. That's just rude.

Arkansas is a bit better as a state this year, and I think Petrino being at Arkansas another year will help his cause. I don't have any inside info, but I've seen more top athletes around the south list Arkansas in their top teams this year than last.
Plus, it's bound to be better than last years. There really isn't any direction he can go other than up.

Take a break if you must, but don't expect Murray to be loyal.

Only on TD. I've got no problems with Arkansas for real though, I hope yall do well except against Auburn. I graduated with yall's punter Dylan Breeding and I know a WR yall just signed in this class so Arkansas is alright with me.

Definately considering it, just tired of the same old shite. Don't worry about Murray though, he's cool with whatever I decide

He's settling before the game even starts. Can't recruit w/ the likes of Miles, Saban, Meyer, Chez-it, etc..

I don't think Bobby tries to do anything but Bobby's thing when it comes to recruiting. He seems to know what he wants and goes after it, though like anyone else, not always successful. I have been OK with his recruiting. I know he dove right into it the day after he was hired at Arkansas. This past year was lean but I think it will be much improved this next year.

Dyer will do nothing but ride the bench at Auburn he is to small. Arkansas didn't need him as i recall i think Arkansas is 5 deep at RB.
