Is it because Vandy is too high, or because Arkansas and the vast majority of the other SEC schools suck at academia?

Both, Vanderbilt just owns the rest of the SEC by a large margin.

The rest are just middle of the pack that no one cares about.

It's kind of like how Harvard was chanting at Cornell students that they suck, and that Cornell is for rejects that can't get into Harvard. To the outside world, a degree from either, and you are set for life.

Vandy is a damn good school. The stereotype of everyone in the SEC being dumb is void since the conference just added two AAU schools.

The entire state of Arkansas is a shite hole (in my opinion of course) minus NWA.

It's like you're in another state when you're in NWA

Meh, Vandy is #17, then you've got Texas A&M and Florida tied at #58, and UGA at #62.

Seems decently consistent as a conference, and of course Vandy helps.

Due in part to the scholarship lottery, I believe the enrollment numbers at every college in Arky is up. It's a good thing, however, the dropout rate will increase as well.

Yeah but nowhere near the ACC, so who really cares?

The ACC will probably always be the mecca of academia of the BCS conferences.
