I'm hearing the next coach will be Eric Mangini.

How about Art Briles from Baylol...huge Texas ties (long time texas high school coach) and has won everywhere he's been...someone that can take Baylol out of the dumpster even for a year is a good coach. I'd personally not want to see it because he knows all the Texas high school coaches...he would recruit better than anyone you've had since you've been in the SEC.

I really don't get why so many think Gruden is such a home run.

Good luck with that

If they're fortunate, they get Briles or Strong. I personally don't see why Strong would leave Louisville for Arkansas. I get the SEC thing but he's got a free ride at Louisville for the next couple of years. He can do better than Arkansas. Briles is more plausible imo. I'd choose Arkansas over Baylor if I were him but he's a Texas guy so who knows.

If not Briles or Strong, not good and we're talking assistant or low D1 level head coach moving up similar to OM and Freeze.

Just a guess, but I will say Strong is the front runner.

Briles could be a name that gets alot of attention.

And Butch Davis as the dark horse.

Davis has alot of supporters but also alot of detractors. If I'm not mistaken, I think Tyson wanted Davis in the first place when we hired JLS.

I would be fine with any one of these. I'm scared we will end up with someone like Kirby Smart or Mark Hudspeth.

Why do you think he'd be bad?

What defines a better job? Cash? Arkansas has the money and is going to dole out top dollar...

Possibly because he is from Arkansas.

Damn I hope not...what I was listing was probable characteristics of an off the beaten path HC. Not trying to imply a specific person.

I would like to see Baylor without RG3...Chizik looked like a hot commodity when Cam was there too.

Ark needs to hire a defensive minded coach. In order to get to LSU and Bama's level of respect you need to have a defense that's like theirs. Ark hasn't had a defense worth mentioning that I can remember

I'd take Art Briles in a heartbeat.
With that said, I'm not exactly sure why Arky fans would be so confident in getting him. Any of you have any idea how much he's getting paid? It's a private university, so I assume not. Add that to the fact that they're building him a brand new stadium.

He a Texas coach and coached an hour and a half away from Waco for quite a while.
