I partially agree. They do only care about their success and the success of their initiatives.
The Big 6 have a lot of pride riding on a successful SEC Network. If it isn't the highest earning network in the nation within 5 years of launch it will be seen as a failure. The whole point is to create a monetary separation from the rest of college football to ensure dominance in the future.
The fastest way for the SEC Network to make money is subscriptions. The two biggest SEC states for subscriptions are Florida and Texas.
Therefore for Bama and the Big 6 to be successful they need A&M to get as many subscriptions in Texas as possible.
They aren't going to let the refs hand A&M games over Bama to make that happen, but will they frick over USC and Arky to help A&M?
Looks like it.

So now you're claiming the Sec will fix games in A&M's favor to get tv subscriptions. You're a psycho dude.

No I clearly said the refs won't help us in big games against Bama/LSU/etc.
I am claiming that the Big 6 will let us frick over Arky and other lower programs to build ourselves up.
Hence why we stole USC's AD and we will steal your best TV slot. Long isn't even being let in on the conversations concerning the LSU game, that alone should show you who the SEC values more.
The Big 6 would probably let us frick the Miss schools if they had anything to offer. Maybe Merlins if Sumlin doesn't work out.

Lets see:
The SEC let us steal USC's AD even though normally just stealing coaches isn't allowed.
The SEC is going to let us steal Arky's best TV slot and Arky's AD isn't even a part of the conversation.
What else will it take to convince you? The SEC telling Miss St. they can't use our uniforms?

Stop being obtuse, an AD is not a coach. Further, show me where in the SEC rules coach stealing is not allowed. Finally, Hyman had many reasons (outside of the job itself) to prefer being in Texas. It wasn't like it was just out of the clear blue sky that he wanted to move to Texas.

All of that will become clearer to you Arky fans when the LSU game is taken from you no matter who wins the game on the field next year.
I don't think LSU fans have really thought this one through. When or if it happens, they're in for a big surprise and I don't think they even realize the consequences.

You are right. An AD is much more important than a single coach unless the coach is Nick Saben.

It is not a hard rule, just a Slive no-no.
But lets drop the USC AD thing for a second.
Do you have any response to the fact that the SEC office is obviously letting us take Arky's biggest TV slot, and Long isn't even part of the discussions?
quote:
Long said Thursday on SportsTalk with Bo Mattingly he has not been part of the conversation regarding the game. Somebody — LSU, A&M, TV partners, the league, perhaps all of the above — seems to be considering Aggies-Tigers becoming the season finale.
“It must be happening somewhere,” Long said. "The conference office has not had those conversations with me.”
So he knows talks are happening, but he isn't involved. Some Flagship.
Hell, he even admits the decision CAN be made completely without him:

If you’re asking me if I think it’s a possibility [that the game changes], yes, it’s a possibility.
Arky AD Left Out of the Process

We will still have the time slot on Friday. You'll play Lsu thanksgiving night. But keep fricking that turkey.

With fricking Mizzou. The Arky-Mizzou game will get half the media coverage just your average LSU game gets, let alone the rivalry week LSU game (No offense Mizzou fans I like you guys).
If you can't admit that us taking the LSU T-weekend game is a big deal for your program and that the Mizzou game will be a big step down in exposure then there is no common ground.

It's perfectly fine with me if they want to play A&M on Thanksgiving. Truth is...we're not going to be the ones who are disappointed if/when the game changes.
LSU has let their thick skull hatred for us replace all reason.

That's because you're their natural rival, boss.

Mizzou has big tv markets too, why do you think we let them in.

Their erroneous motives have very little to do with being rivals. It has much more to do with where they think it will land them in the polls at the end of the year.

You needed a rival, bro.
Just a preemptive pacifying mechanism.
