I'm gonna say B and that's subject to change by end of season.
Things I like:
I'm liking the way he's building the team- as in type of players
Great improvement through out season
The team ALWAYS plays hard, there is no give up and normally they play pretty smart football
Love the type of game we play- hard nosed yet multidimensional offense
Thing I'm iffy on:
Why do we suck at beginning of seasons? We lose to the aggies for gods sake. Anyway, I'll accept injuries as the reason and brand new oc for this season. Next season we are going to have a new qb and I don't want to be in the position to have to make excuses then. So, in summary, I want to start out decent going forward.
Good post. It is interesting to see how high (or low) the bar is set at other SEC schools.
I think a B is a bit high for what he has accomplished when you look at the raw numbers I posted. I do understand that the 2 wins against LSU and Ole Miss and the bowl win over Texas will skew the grade to the upside.

Bert's teams get better as the season progresses and that's the most important sign of a good coach. His coordinator hires have been impressive as well. He convinced Enos to give up a head coaching job to come be his OC and he has the best offense in the SEC. Bert at LSU or UGA would be scary.
Arky is at a recruiting disadvantage when compared to the rest of the SECW, but they have the 2nd best coach so they'll be competitive most years in the future.

His record outside of those four games is abysmal. Am I wrong?
Well yeah but his first year when he went 0-8 shouldn't really be held against him given what he walked in to. He's 6-3 in his last 9 SEC games.
Next year will tell a lot about him since we could lose a lot on offense

Fair enough. I think the abysmal part is the losses to Toledo and Texas Tech. You can't tell me the team that beat LSU last night had any business losing to both of them (injuries aside).

I agree. The Arky defense took a step back this year when some key guys departed.
You will have a new QB and will most likely lose Alex Collins and H. Henry? How many O-line will you lose?
How many key guys on defense do you expect to lose?

B-
Not higher because of all the preseason shite talk and no 2 a days. Came out weak but I think he learned, that's a lot of missed on field time learning a new offense. Will help in the future, I believe.
Not lower because Coach B is cramming for his finals. He knows how to roll out of bed and into Death Valley and ace that shite. He will actually finish at a solid B or B+ with the bowl game draw and win.

I agree. Next year is the year for this thread (unless you're just fishing). We lost some key players on D this year, and that hit us hard early in the year. I'm really interested to see how we'll adapt next season on O.
Based on my expectations, I'd put him at C+/B-. He's on par, but I'd reserve the higher grades for exemplary performance regardless of injuries and players he inherited. I don't hold his first season against him, but he's given the last two A&M games away - and to get an A - he has to beat Bama. I think he's made good adjustments at the assistant coach level, and overall, is making progress.
Remember, smile...

His total record as of now is 16-19. (Curley Hallman was 12-21 his first 3 years at LSU)
And Bielema is clearly playing the same SEC that Hallman was, right?
Let's see, in 1991 Hallman beat vaunted 5-6 Vanderbilt, powerhouse 3-8 Kentucky, and dynasty 5-6 Ole Miss.
In 1992, Hallman beat juggernaut 7-5 Mississippi State.
In 1993, Hallman beat juggernaut 4-5-2 Mississippi State again, dynasty 6-5 Ole Miss again, and the only good win in 3 years, 9-3-1 Alabama. Of course, he could have lost to Bama by 40, and it still would be counted as a win, Bama cheated and vacated that year.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Bielema played more ranked opponents in 2014 than Hallman did in his entire tenure at LSU, and if he ever beat any of them, it was Bama in 1993, for a total of 1.
In 2013, Bielema played #10 Texas A&M, #18 Florida, #14 South Carolina, #1 Alabama, #11 Auburn, and #17 LSU, losing to all of them.
In 2014, Bielema played #6 Auburn, #6 Texas A&M, #7 Alabama, #10 Georgia, #1 Misissippi State, #17 LSU, #8 Ole Miss, and #17 Missouri, beating LSU, and Ole Miss.
So far in 2015, Bielema has played #14 Texas A&M, #8 Alabama, #18 Ole Miss, and #9 LSU, beating half of the ranked teams he's played.
I'll take 6-16 and run with it, Curley Hallman comparisons and all. Given the facts, your comparison makes you look like the ignorant one.
I'll give Bielema a solid B+ to A-.

Hook Line Sinker
I put that little Curley Hallman comparison in there just to see if anyone would take the bait.
They say there is a sucker born every minute. That.... my friend.....is you.

I just told you the Hallman comparison was to see if some dolt would take the bait. Sure enough, you did an hour of research to discredit what was nothing more than a dig at what he has accomplished.
Then you double-down on stupidity and mock me for making a fool of you.
Let me guess...you're from W. Memphis.

the only coach I'd take over him is saban. grade wise idk I'd say an A because unlike you I have perspective.

You guess about as well as Miles coaches. I'm guessing you attend LSU. It took about 5 minutes to fact bomb you. Try using the interweb for something other than starting inane threads.

No, but for a few days I thought he was in the peeple hurtin bidness when we had jwill, cornelius, hatcher, hollister, and walker all go down with broken bones.
But we've got Herb to get them fed right so they heal up like wolverine

How many O-line will you lose?
2 or 3 depending if Kirkland leaves early or not

How many key guys on defense do you expect to lose?
None really. Pretty sure there are only 2 seniors on the two deep.
