We all know the pictures that JJ has of Les Miles...he will be the starter until he graduates and gets a cushy job with some alumni.

Based on the following I would say they are due*.
1) Arkanasas bowl record before they joined the SEC was 9-15-3..a win% of 38.8%
2) It has gone down since they joined the SEC to a not very good 3-8 or 27% win %.
3) Add to that.. they have never been the SEC Conference Champ.
4) They have never had less than a 3 loss season since before they joined the SEC.
5) They have not been final ranked in the top 10 since 1982
6) They 3 of the past 5 National Champions in their Division
7) They have the last 5 National Champions in their conferance.
* So is Vandy

I hope you meant to say "Have not finished the season ranked in the top 10".
We've been ranked in the top 10 a few times, as recently as last year.

The Arkansas defense should be very solid this year.
The Hogs made a vast improvement from the year before last and finished top 5 in the SEC in total defense last season.
The improvement needs to be against the run, which Petrino addressed recruiting the past few years. Robert Thomas may be the missing piece to fill the middle of the line this season to go along with Byron & DD Jones. Arkansas was 5th in the SEC last year in pass efficiency defense and return Thomas, Winston, Madison in the secondary.
Arkansas was also 2nd in the league in sacks a year ago with 37 in 13 games. Arkansas returns 3 defensive players who had at least 6 sacks. Jake Bequette led all with 7 a year ago. The Hogs also led the league in opponents 3rd down conversions, only giving up a conversion 33.5% of the time.

Arkansas D was not atrocious last year, it wasn't even bad. People fail to realize how bad our special teams hurt us last year, it put our D in bad situations far to often.
We'll have a top 4 D in 2011, it will slightly improve, but look much improved due to vastly improved special teams.

With all this improvement you guys should be jumping to the NFL in a couple of years.

If you are going to just copy and paste from your other threads, you should at least take the time to correct all the misspellings.

Dear Arkansas Fanaticks,
Bowl Games count towards the totality of a football season.
It's like being pregnant...having the baby is the point of gestation period.

Sometimes you just don't make any sense. You said we hadn't been ranked in the top 10 since 1982, now you're coming up with this bowl game garbage?
Why don't you just correct your mistake and be done with it?

They weren't bad last year. 6th in total defense, I think.
5th actually, I imagine around #3 this year. Bama better find a passing game early because our front 4 is gonna be deep and nasty.

Possibly the best front 4 we have had since entering the SEC in 1992. Very deep & talented along the Dline this year. Still very young at that position as well, which bodes well for the future. Bequette will be all we lose after the 2011 season.

Top 4 D...in the nation, SEC, or SEC West?
Doubt seriously that any Bobby Petrino team is going to be Top 4 in the nation. Skeptical that they can even be in the SEC Top 4.

You realize Arkansas was top 5 in the SEC last year, right?

Yes, but, I don't see them moving up that much. You may be right that they crack the SEC Top 4 this year. Bama and LSU should be 2. UF should be there.
My skepticism is based more on Petrino's track record. Isn't your LB corp considered to be a weak point? Also, I've heard your starters in the D backfield should be good, but, you don't have much depth short of freshmen.

Top 4 in the SEC, certainly not the nation.

Hell #4 in the SEC could very well be top 25 in Nation

Jerry Franklin and Jericho Nelson are probably two of the best in the SEC.

We return a lot of experience in the secondary. We also have some talented incoming kids as well.
