I am STUNNED Jon Gruden is not on this list.

Also surprised Dykes isn't higher up the list. He's definitely leaving La Tech as strong as they have looked so far this year.

4. Mark Hudspeth (Louisiana-Lafayette) – There’s something very intriguing about Hudspeth, who should’ve been in the Coaching Poll last week (Can’t believe I left him out). He has worked in the state (at Central Arkansas). He has SEC ties (worked at Mississippi State). And has been in the Southeast throughout most of his coaching career (was 66-21 as the head coach at North Alabama). Hudspeth is regarded as an up-and-comer who is likely to land somewhere soon. Is it Arkansas

Heres your winner; this man can turn a program around just like Mullen.

6. Kirby Smart (Alabama DC) – Long said last week he isn’t ruling any type of coach out. While we have reservations about whether a current assistant will land the job, Smart may just be at the top of that list because of his work with Alabama Nick Saban. Alabama’s defense has been filthy the past couple of seasons and if there’s any chance Smart could replicate it at Arkansas he’d be worth a long, long look.

I hope we get Kirby Smart. He hasn't proven himself as a head coach, but he's had one hell of a teacher. I think everyone in the state of Arkansas is ready for us to have a legit defense, and Kirby will bring that to the table. I like James Franklin's intensity, and I think he'd fit in well at Arkansas, despite his record at Vandy. I mean it's Vandy ffs. The other coaches are mediocre at best, and they've had enough opportunities to prove otherwise. RGIII made Art Briles name relevant just like Cam Newton did Malzahn. I don't want either one.

How is it that Tommy Tuberville is not in this mix? He has a long history of SEC success, especially against top 10 opponents. He also is from Arkansas. Tommy is good at PR and politically pretty adept. I would think he would be a good fit.

he got accused of not recruiting well his last couple of years at AU, which is probably true, but the jetgate thing I believe ended any chance he was going to stay at AU long term. Too much bad blood with the former powerbrokers at Auburn.

Paul Rhoads is way too mediocre.

Seriously? This guy is a phenomenal Xs and Os guy. Don't really know much about his recruiting but can flat out coach. Just not a "homerun hire" name YET.

dam the pig fans around here have really gone down in quality, they sound like Ole Miss fans now.

Yeah, you just watch as see and you all do realize he wanted to hire Bowden and Grobe before Petrino fell in his lap.
