I didn't realize how bad it was until I watched a video on it recently. My God that org deserves so much better ownership. It's horrendous.

If you're not prepared to swim in poop for your team, are you actually a fan?

Lol while that is very impressive, don't get me wrong, the As are a disaster that's looking to make a move away from Oakland.

And I can't blame them. That has to be the worst ballpark left in the major leagues

What even more pitiful is that's paid attendance. As absolutely had games with less than 1K in the seats

Sucks as they've had some of my all time favorites play for them (Dave Stewart, Tim Hudson, Barry Zito, to name a few).

Yeah I've got a soft spot for the A's too. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my favorite movies ever, but I hope that Moneyball movie was worth it to whoever made it. It completely removed whatever little competitive advantage they had. Basically made a movie about how good their poker hand was and showed everybody.

Book published in 2004 and movie came out in 2011. Cat was already outta the bag well before '04.

Red Socks tried to hire Beane as their GM because of this player analysis.

"If he's a good hitter then why doesn't he hit good?" is a great quote.

I hope this is a joke. You really think there was anything cutting edge in a movie that MLB organizations didn't already know?

Baseball should be yanked from Miami, Tampa and Oakland

Portland, Vegas, Nashville would all be solid MLB cities

You can directly correlate the movie release to their decline. There's a video doc on it. The book was out, yes, but a lot of the league still hadn't adopted the philosophy until the movie hit mainstream. Hell, even the director of the movie said he didn't think the movie would be good for the A's in the long term.

What?!

The Red Sox had won two titles with "Moneyball" theories by the time the movie was released.

The Sox were obviously the first big market team to adopt the philosophy. That doesn't mean the A's strategy had been completely compromised due to the entire league hopping on the train like they have now.

The results speak for themselves.

Knowing and believing in the philosophy enough to implement it into your own organization are two completely different things.

BTW - you want to know how I know that everything is right in the world??

Because here we are in the final few hours of the 2023 NCAA Baseball Preseason and Razorback fans are posting about total attendance numbers!!!

Best of luck this season and I hope Baum isn't hit with any early spring cold snaps or snowstorms.

Soak it all in...the green grass, perfect white lines, blue skies, manicured turf, and the sweet sound of a white baseball caught deep in the perfect pocket of a leather mitt.

They will be well supported when they move to Nashville.
Arkansas has nothing else worth watching in the entire state except for baseball. They are a “baseball school” nothing else.
