• Also making the top 10 list are 2018-19 Razorback opponents Nico Carvacho(Colorado State) and Charles Bassey (Western Kentucky).

• The Sporting News announced its 2018-19 Midseason All-American squad on Jan. 15 and Arkansas sophomore Daniel Gafford was selected to the third team.

• Gafford and Tennessee’s Grant Williams were the only two SEC players on the 15-member team.

• Isaiah Joe is going into the record books as he is on pace to set two school records, an SEC record and could have one of the top 5 freshman seasons in NCAA history.

vRECORD WATCH 1: Joe set the Arkansas freshman record for 3-pointers made in a season at Missouri. He has made 86 3-pointers, breaking the previous mark of 83 by Rotnei Clarke in 2009.

• RECORD WATCH 2: With 8 guaranteed games left (7 regular season and 1 SEC tourney),Joe is currently on pace to finish with “114.6” 3-pointers made this season. The Arkansas record for 3’s made in a season is 102 by Scotty Thurman in 1994-95.

• RECORD WATCH 3:At Joe’s current on pace of finishing with “114.6” 3-pointers made, he would become the SEC freshman leader for 3-pointers made. The current record is 113 by Kentucky’ Jamal Murray (2015-16).

• RECORD WATCH 4: Murray currently stands third (tied with current freshman Antoine Davis of Detroit Mercy) on the NCAA list for 3-pointers made in a season by a freshman. Stephen Curry (Davidson)is the NCAA freshman leader for 3’s made in a season with 122 in 2006-07

• Isaiah Joe ranks 22nd in the NCAA overall in 3-point field goal percentage (.439) but he leads all NCAA freshmen in the category. He also leads all players in the SEC.

• Joe, who leads all SEC players in 3’s made, ranks second among NCAA freshmen in both 3-pointers made (86) and 3-pointers made per game(3.58). The NCAA leader, also a freshman, is Antoine Davis of Detroit Mercy (113 and 4.52 per game)

• Mississippi State is looking to secure consecutive 20-win seasons for the 10th time in program history.

• Six of the nine occurances have come during the 2000’s. The last time the Bulldogs accomplished the feat was in 2008-09 and 2009-10.

• Mississippi State’s program record for wins during a two year span is 49 set by the 2003-04 and 2004-05 squads.

• Mississippi State is listed second among the receiving votes category in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 poll (As of 02/11). This marks the first week where the Bulldogs are not ranked in either poll.

• The Bulldogs started 2018-19 ranked among the AP’s Top 25 and the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 polls for 13th consecutive editions. There was no USA/Today Coaches Top 25 on 11/12.

• The 13 consecutive AP polls matched the 2004-05 team for the program’s third longest streak to start the season. This year’s squad trailed only the 2002-03 and 1958-59 squads who were ranked for 17 and 14 straight polls, respectively.

• The No. 14 ranking on 01/07 was the highest for the Bulldogs since being ranked No.11 on Jan. 11, 2005 in the AP Top 25, and the program’s best going back to Dec. 26, 2011 when MSU also checked in at No. 14 among the USA/Today Coaches Top 25.

• The last time MSU was a consensus pre-season top 25 squad was in 2009-10 when the Bulldogs were ranked identically at No.18 by the AP and at No. 19 by the USA Today/Coaches polls.

• Mississippi State returns its top six scorers from last season which include Quinndary Weatherspoon (14.4 PPG), Aric Hol-man(10.9 PPG), Nick Weatherspoon(10.8 PPG), Lamar Peters(9.6 PPG), Tyson Carter(8.9 PPG)and Abdul Ado(7.8 PPG)

• The six players combined for 2,264 points and 83.4 percent of the team’s scoring a season ago. They also accounted for 118 of the team’s 128 efforts in double figures.

Hopefully we have finally put it together. I can’t believe the series is that close at BWA. Didn’t we lose the first 10-12 trips up there?

I have absolutely no read on this game, or this Arkansas team for that matter. We could beat y'all soundly on our home court or get whipped.

We have shown a worrisome tendency to build up big leads and then watch them vanish in the closing minutes of games. Some of those we held on to win, others we got blown out in.

It's now or never for this hoops team. If they wanna make the tournament they simply cannot lose this game.

I want to see a 15+ point win tonight.
