Umm no.
I grew up and played in a time when you actually wanted to hurt the other teams players. Hurt, not give someone a deliberate injury which is quite different.
Hit them hard, knock the frick out of them. Put every bit of your weight into things, drive them to the ground, knock the breathe out of them and so on. Every hit on the QB counted in the end game the same way body shots do in boxing. Hurt them, make them think about the hit that is coming, slow them down etc.
Pussies and shitty people resort to cheap shots.
Don't defend it just because it's one of your own.
