It could be a long period of darkness for arky.
Because we were showing so much improvement under him. Poor ole Arkiesaw, can't expect more than 2 wins every year!

You have just lost an upcoming class of recruits that were better than you had been getting. That class now lost. The new coach probably won’t have time to rescue this upcoming class so that’s another year without any base to rebuild. Another poor record most likely. Then you have to go into the next year without much to work with. Rinse and repeat. You can’t turn the program around without the recruits and you can’t recruit without a good record. Chicken or egg. Got to have a MAJOR coach to have the recruits come on the rep of the coach only. Gotta have an off the charts hire. I wish you good luck actually.

We are gonna have another couple hard years. Hopefully we can at least be competitive. That's all we expected this year. Chad would have survived with 4 non conference wins which were all cupcakes for most schools.

You're kidding yourself if you actually think we got out-talented by teams like Colorado State and San Jose State. There's talent already sitting on this roster, they just weren't coached worth a bag of chips. Getting in the coaching carousel early, especially when schools like Florida State are already open, is perfectly fine. The 3/4 empty stadium and getting blown out by Western Kentucky AT HOME in year 2 absolutely cannot be tolerated after also having lost to San Jose State.
A strong hire will salvage the recruiting class and we'll be fine. We didn't even have an athletic director during our last coaching search. Not even remotely the same circumstances this time around. The concern is noted and appreciated though.

We have the talent to have 4 wins at minimum. 5 or 6 was possible. There were way bigger issues.
