A couple of differences... one, Bama's schedule has sucked there's no disputing that. Second, LSU would have won the division and the SEC. This one is the kicker.
The argument is consistently made about college football and the regular season being the "playoff". This does not apply to Bama is seems. Look, I'm not saying LSU will beat Bama this weekend nor do I think they will. All I'm saying is how in the world would you include a team in a 4 team playoff that didn't win their division much less the conference AND played a much weaker schedule than will be other 1 loss power 5 conference champions?

This guy is really struggling with an "apples to apples" situation...
Let me help him out. If LSU hadn't lost to UF earlier this year, and our ONLY loss to Bama was at HOME, then I think you'd have a lot of LSU fans eating crow for their opinion in 2011, and even more saying "Bama gets undue favor and benefitted, now it's just our turn to benefit from the same situation that we dog-trashed."
Yeah, we think that if you don't win your division, or conference, then you don't deserve to be in the hunt for the National title. It's that simple.
It's really tough for some people to understand other's viewpoints, especially when those viewpoints would have negative effects to your situation. I get why Bama wouldn't want to HAVE to win the West in order to compete for the NC. They've won a NC twice now without winning their division. Just doesn't make a lot of sense...
