Y'all opened your season just 3 short yrs ago with national powerhouse Georgia Southern. I'm still impressed by the balls y'all had to do that.

No team or coach in football will take a game that does not count seriously at the beginning of the season. They simply will not risk getting a star injured for a game that does not count. It will turn into a spring game type of thing and the fans will not support it so they can see the freshmen and sophomore backups play.

Just spitballing here but if the SEC and Big 10 collaborated in the first two weeks of the season it would be pretty cool to see a rotation of out of conference games paired up between the 16 schools in each conference. They could do them at neutral sites.
