I don’t think that FSU lose at neutral site hurts as much as the 40-13 lose on your home field just 4 weeks ago.
I don't disagree, but at the same time that loss to Tenner looks pretty good for SoS if y'all keep winning, doesn't it?
And, if (BIG if) LSU goes all the way and wins the SEC over Georgia, then the CFP committee has to decide if LSU's loss to Tenner is outweighed by their overall record (beating two top-10 teams) and beating Georgia - who beat Tenner.
That will be an interesting situation, won't it?

It's a tough question in some aspects, but as has been mentioned, a conference champ has been left out before in favor of a higher ranked member of the same conference.
In my mind, the CFP spots are for what are perceived to be the top four teams in college football at the end of the regular season. If LSU were to win out and clinch the SEC Championship the Tigers would still have a very difficult argument to make that they are one of those top four teams nationally. The question then would become - who, between, Georgia and Tennessee would represent the SEC in the CFP?
Georgia whipped UT pretty convincingly last week. But let's say that LSU, by some miracle, curb-stomps UGA in Atlanta. Then the margin of victory UT had over LSU in Death Valley becomes a legitimate talking point and things start to get muddy and ugly.
I think it's best to just enjoy the rest of the season and "burn that bridge when we get to it," to properly booger up that quote.

Oregon also beat 1 loss UCLA by double digits.

The bigger moral is that a team like Michigan should be punished for not playing a single P5 OOC yet they haven't been. Oregon would be undefeated and LSU would only have 1 loss.
