It doesn't "prevent" anything, but opting out means Arch doesn't have to answer stupid questions from reporters like "what do you think of your likeness in the game?" "Do you think your rating is too low, just about right or too high?" "Do you think your younger cousins will play with you as QB?*

I mean sure all these asinine questions will come if he eventually does opt in, but nothing can take away the two years of learning to be a P4 QB and more importantly, enjoying life as a college student. Is there anyone here who didn't appreciate those days far more about 10 years after graduating?

Kudos to his family because he’s done nothing to earn the accolades
