Don’t agree of course like I don’t believe the Heisman is a true representation of the best player. Maybe it’s the Walter Camp award.

Even if they claim 9, our grandchildren will be dead and forgotten before they can even think of claiming or winning another.

This is Auburn we are talking about.

Pre 1936...Rose Bowl winner was generally considered the best team in the country.

1936 up until the BCS you had the AP and, a little later, the UPI polls.

It's not rocket science. That's why I wish Bama would torpedo the ridiculous 1941 claim...that alone gives the "if we counted like you do" crowd ammo. The rest of the 17 are rock solid based on the criteria in play at the time.

If USC can claim the 2003 championship Auburn can claim 2004

USC: won one of the two major polls used for decades

Auburn: did not do that

There are AP National Championships and Coaches Poll National Championships (awarded the playoff trophy currently) Everything else is a “claim”

Your original post said that AP national championships are all that matter.

2003 LSU doesn’t have an AP national championship.

must be stressful to a fan of a program like OU where you’re never sure if people consider you a blue blood or not

I can’t relate (since two days ago)

Agree with you 100%.

I am guessing they are feeling a little more fragile since coming to the league of champions.

BCS is the only one now as it should be...there should only be om national champion...Imagine if a basketball team said they were National Champs because they ended the season ranked number 1 then lost in the tourny.

OU mad cause Auburn has more NC’s and two since the last time they won one.

If OU claimed NCs the way yall just did we’d have like 17. Chill.

Sooners, how do you feel about 1974? OU won the AP but USC claims the natty for that year.
