Anyone notice that the SEC may not get an at-large spot

in the BCS bowls?
Both Fresno St and NIU are on the cusp of making that #16 ranking with Louisville falling back but still winning thier conference.
Bama can get to the BCS but to get there, they have to give AU and either Mizzou or USCe another loss.
There won't be a 1 loss SEC team out there at the end of the season.
The only scenario is for Bama to lose and then they and the SEC Champs would get two bids.

Auburn is good, no doubt, but not good enough to beat Bama this year. Malzahn has y'all going in the right direction though. And Mizzou is overrated, IMO.

Assuming Alabama can win out, I can't see a 10-2 Auburn or Mizzou getting left out of the Sugar Bowl.

Just depends on how things shake out. I could see the Sugar Bowl taking the right 2-loss SEC team over a 1-loss team from another conference.
There will be three AL spots this year. The ACC will take one, which leaves 2 for Stanford, one of Baylor/OU, and one of Missouri/Auburn.

Louisville isn't winning the AAC or going to a BCS bowl.
AAC champ and BCS rep will be the winner of UCF/Houston.

so? BCS is only for #1 and #2. They can pretty much pick whoever they want after that.
Also, NIU still has to beat Ball State and Toledo on top of the MAC title game and Fresno State isn't exactly dominating the MWC so its completely possible they lose even before a potential rematch with Boise/Utah State in the MWC title game.

If Auburn and Mizzou both finish 10-2 they would take one of them. Auburn would probably sell more tickets than Mizzou, but either would make the Sugar Bowl a lot more money than Baylor or Fresno or who ever.

This. Plus it's the last year of the BCS so who cares if they piss off #16?.
The Sugar Bowl would love to see Auburn this year.
I bet the Superdome would be packed.
Unlike last season's Sugar Bowl with UF in it.
Auburn fans would show up.

This is what I ranted about earlier this week. People don't even realize UCF beat Louisville and has a better resume overall because somehow Louisville is ranked ahead of them. Irks me to no end that people can still think Louisville is winning the AAC right now because of how the BCS voters slotted them.

there really won't be. Are you not paying attention to anyone else?
AAC - no chance they get 2 spots
ACC - Assume they get 2 (but they may not depending on USC-Clemson bc Miami will almost def lose 2 to FSU)
Pac - if Oregon wins then the 2nd place PAC will have 2 losses
B1G - only Mich and MSU have 1-loss now. They play and the winner plays OSU in B1G champ. Plus UM playing OSU in reg season
Big 12 - the 1-loss teams haven't played each other or Baylor yet
There are 6 automatic qualifiers + it looks like 1 non-AQ team (they never have to take 2 unless 2 are in top 4 btw). That means there will be 3 at-large spots. Pac, ACC, SEC. No real other options imo. Bowls take who brings fans and ratings.

Only one team out of Fresno and NIU are going to get a BCS bid, assuming they both win out.
Louisville isn't getting in the BCS. UCF is winning that conference and getting the auto-bid.
There will absolutely be two SEC teams. Either Auburn or LSU from the SEC, then probably Wisconsin, Clemson, and Stanford as the other at-large teams.

You are right on that one. It's total bullshite for UL to still be above UCF.
Every voter that still has UL above UCF is extremely suspect IMO.

I think it's foolish to leave USC out of this equation. If they finish with 10 wins, but left out of the SEC Championship game, that would mean that they'd have three wins over teams in the BCS top-15: Clemmy, Mizzou, and UCF. That's a solid resume, and if nothing else, the Sugar Bowl would sell their allotment of tickets to the USC fanbase in about 15 minutes.
Seriously, if Carolina has 10 wins, I think the Sugar Bowl strongly considers taking them.

The Sugar Bowl would get either first or second pick with Bama playing in the BCSCG. They could choose anyone.

Who makes the NCG and the order the bowls pick in will dictate who the AL selections are.
If it is Bama/Oregon in NCG, then bowls pick like this:
1. Sugar - Will take an SEC team if one is eligible, guaranteed.
2. Rose - Will take a PAC-12 team if available (unless ND is eligible, then they will be tempted by Irish.
3. Orange - Won't take an ACC to match against Florida St., so will take most desirable B1G, Big-12 or ND.
4&5. Sugar and Fiesta get stuck with AAC champ and Fresno St./N. Illinois qualifier.
- In this case, ACC will get shut out of 2nd BCS team.
If it is Bama/Florida St.
1. Sugar - Still takes SEC.
2. Orange - Takes ACC if eligible
3. Orange - B1G, B12 or ND
4-5. Same as before
If it is Oregon/Florida St.
1. Rose - Takes P12 or ND
2. Orange - Takes ACC
3. Orange - Takes SEC
4-5. Same as before... Sugar gets AAC champ, Fiesta gets Fresno/NIU.
Note, if no mid-major earns auto berth, then AAC champ would fall to Fiesta, and Sugar could get a better opponent against SEC team.
